did you just copy and paste this from the reply you did above? shame on you, a valued customer receives a generic answer tells me you guys should be avoided

        • Hi thanks for the comment - we thought that the reply was relevant to both questions.

Thanks again for the comment and taking a look at GetGaming.

  • From the website:

We offer monthly plans starting at $29.95 for 1 game at a time or $39.95 for 2 games at a time. Both monthly plans include unlimited exchanges and FREE postage. You can cancel your membership at any time. There are no due dates or late fees on monthly plans.

    • Yes that is correct, please see comments above.

  • Can you get your new game posted out before you send back the old one? Otherwise you'll be spending up to two weeks waiting for postage either way which really cuts into the time you're paying for

      Hi,
We have an Express Return option so as soon as you are finished with the game you can mark as express returned and we will send the next available title out that day.

      • which could take up to 3 working days i assume waiting for the first game to be returned then another day for the new game to be sent out and on the third day to possibly receive it by if not 4 days in total.

Being transparent about actual delivery times would help customers have a real expectation about your speedy service.

Hi, Yes that's correct members get a game within 2-4 days from the time we send them, which is clearly stated on the site in our FAQ's.

The Express return function helps to cut this time down by giving members the chance to let us know when they are ready for the next game without having to also wait for the game to be sent back us.

So to be clear the Express Return function is available to use on the day you intend to send back the game (or the day before) and we will send the next title to you on that same day. So both games will be in the mail at the same time.

          Cheers

Twas a joke comment, but to be honest, I don't know how you could run a business like this and be both profitable, and not a complete rip off.

Like, I understand how much games cost, I do. And I understand that you can't buy one and rent it out for 2 bucks a month because too many people would just keep the things and it wouldn't be worth it.

But if I can buy most games on release day for around 60ish bucks at Big W/Target/etc. and own it forever, well, why would I pay 30 bucks a month for one game rental?

Say you sub to your service for 30 a month, that's 60 every two months. That's the cheapest option. That gets you one game at a time, that's it. It would be much better value for the consumer to just buy their games on release day and shop around for deals, and this is only for day oners, if you get something a few months old they're usually a lot less than 60 even.

If there was one game every two months I desperately wanted that came out, I could buy them and own them forever, for the same amount it would cost for me to rent one game a time with y'all. It just doesn't add up.

Again, I understand that it can't be done for pennies, and I wish you guys nothing but success, but ultimately, there's not really that much value here and I just don't see it working. If it was 30 a month for like 3 games at a time, I mean like, maybe. I don't know.

Logically people should be happy with one game at a time, but we gamers aren't always logical when it comes to this sort of stuff. I'm back and forthing my way through three different games right now on my PSP alone, never mind all my other consoles.

I really do wish you the best of luck. The service sounds like something I could really use, but the pricing just, I mean. I know you can't make it super cheap, I know, but 30 for one game at a time is just too much.

        • Hi, The plans are for 1 or two games at a time not 1 game per month - We have many members averaging 2-4 games per month on the 1 game at a time plan and 6-8 on the 2 games at a time plan. Obviously this would depend on the members time to play and the games interest to them.

Sorry that the plans and pricing were not clear. But as mentioned it is 1 or 2 games at a time for unlimited games per month, you are only constrained by the time you take to play and of course the postage time. Hopefully this makes it more clear.

Again thanks for your comments and for taking the time to take a look at GetGaming.

        • I mean not to mention things like keeping their catalogue in stock, such that when the new release drops (and is pretty much the only relevant use case for this service, as old games cost nothing), are they really going to stock 100 copies? No they aren't, it'll go out of stock and you go in queue to rent out the copy, as stated by the service…whenever the other 20 people feel like returning it.

Numbers made up but you get the point, there's a reason these services never stick around. The service doesn't scale and it's too costly, I'm really surprised some one is trying it again. That napkin maths must have felt really compelling.

        • Hi Thanks for your comment.

GetGaming has been operating successfully for over 7 years. Our Queue system provides us the ability to predict the demand for upcoming titles and to order accordingly. There will be times when the top game in a members queue is not available but by having a queue or 5-10 games that they are wanting to play we can always provide a game to play. We also take requests from members to hold games when they return for them and to have day one access to new releases.

Thanks again for your comment and for taking a look at GetGaming.com.au.
