I got a once-off 5x points on my biggest spend only, ends tomorrow (so maybe not the same round of offers). So I've been avoiding safeway woolworths until now to maximise my points when I eventually go (anyone else here still habitually call it Safeway ?)

yeah, that's what was offered on my housemate's (largely unused) card, so $30 discount for spending $120 once.
Yet my card that gets used every few days was 3x points over $120 as many times as you like.
Doing the maths:
2000points = $10
so 1 point = $10/2000 = $0.005 (half a cent)
Normal points on $120 = 120 x $0.005 = 60c
So triple points gives an additional $1.20 benefit (since you're earning the 60 either way)…compared to $30 for the occasional user.
So this is how Woolies rewards loyalty ? Time to change my loyalty (or at least swap cards with my housemate).
