Continuing on from previous THQ Week deals on Steam PC Games.

About the Game:
Set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands.

In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age.

The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.

You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. Having never ventured beyond your Metro Station-City limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.

  • $13.60 on the US version of the store. http://www.steampowered.com?cc=us

    • once again showing steam ripping the Australian community off!

i wrote to them about borderlands saying it was cheaper in the US and on direct to drive, about a week later they matched it.

      • Surely it's THQ ripping off the Australian community? Steam has said that the prices in different regions are dictated by the publishers, not Steam.

I have Metro 2033, i actually found it pretty scary at some parts however I soon grew tired of it, the replayability is poor.

It has been on Mighty Ape for around $6.33 so I dont really agree with steam pricing on this one. Further more, you can use your CD key for Metro 2033 on steam for any achivments if your that kind of person.

    • Wow that is so cheap!
      Wish I knew that earlier.
      Cheers

    • This.

      • can you get steam achievements and DL from steam from that one though?

        • +1

Yes. It's a Steamworks game, so you activate it with Steam and it's just as if you purchased it directly from Steam. Just like any other Steam game.

      Australia-wide postage is $4.95. So it's $12 delivered.

    • Agreed. Even if Steam downloads don't count towards your usage quota, it's still cheaper.

    • I'll be buying it from here, anyone bought from mightyape?

      • Yes. Delivery does not take too long.

When you recieve it from Mighty ape, feel free to activate it on steam for your achievments if you want any in game.

        Edit Fixed my typo

        • Is it possible to install the game from disc but activate on steam? So that no need to download it again.

          EDIT: typo.

        • Superforever, I don't understand what you mean. The disc that comes in the boxed edition essentially acts like restoring a Steam backup. As long as you have the disc you will not need to download anything but update patches.

If you don't have Steam, you will need to install that before you can install Metro 2033.

      • I bought mine from Might Ape.
        Quite good.

Only negative is that it comes from NZ.

  • Just a heads up, steam is selling L4D2 and L4D1 for $10 USD each, normally $20.
You can also go to the US steam store and get them both for $15 USD.

    • Lol l4d on sale again.

Remember the site will probably automatically load the censored version, though! Get around it~
