After reading some of Benson Leungs reviews I decided to set out to find if any of his reviewed cables are cheap on Aliexpress. Google Benson Leung for why you don't want to use cheap USB C cables.

I found this one on the Official VCE Aliexpress store. According to google cache it is normally $4.98USD but for the next 3 hrs it is $1.98USD.

Here is the review from Benson: https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R176PKBSGCZAE4?ref_=glimp_1…

I can't be certain its the exact same cable as the amazon one looks to have a slightly different colour plug but that could just be the photo. All the specs seem to match up.

Edit: They have updated the expiry to another 3 days.

haha. would miss out on the cash rewards though!

    • Thanks OP & nubix. Bought 9 cables through app for $14.83 USD with cashrewards.

    • Strange. I save the $13 coupon but it's not applied…

      • It will appear once you go to the payment page.

        • you're right! thanks so much :)

  • It's USB 3.1 as well, a pleasant surprise.

  • Got 2. Thx OP!

  • Mate, your profile name is NO, but you are YES ;)

I didn't want someone else to take No and Yes wasn't available :)

  • How do you select a city for delivery? They have a dropdown which list councils for some reason. I already have a two line address so can't put it there. I'm not sure the postman for city "Other" will be able to find my address…

    • Once you select Australia as the delivery country, the remaining fields should dynamically update to City etc.

      • Yes, I select Australia and then the State dropdown is populated with Australian States. Then I select Victoria from the State dropdown and the City dropdown is populated with the names of Victorian… council areas?!? Alpine, Bass Coast, etc. There is no way to manually enter the correct city.

    • I get the same problem, and with the deal ending in 20 minutes, looks like I'll be missing out :(

      • You have 3 days now ;) I still can't find a way around the problem though.

        • Have you tried using the app?

        • @No:

Same thing. City field is a dropdown populated with council areas. How have you selected your city? I can't understand why the City field is a dropdown in the first place - there's literally hundreds of cities in Victoria so it wouldn't be practical even if the correct information was in there.

        • @dazweeja: I've been using aliexpress for ages so my address is already saved. But I just went to add another address and I have the exact same problem. I think its a bug.

        • @No:

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll see if I can sort it out with them.

  • Got a pair, thanks!

  • Doesn't it look shady?

Why does your avatar say "yes" but username says "no"?

  • +1

Bought 2 without thinking, and I don't own any type-c device. But there seem to be many other brands, with similar price and better feedback.

  • Thanks OP, bought a few.

  • Yep bought two as well. Just what I needed!

Will this help me get a high ATAR?

    • +2

      Thanks just bought 99.95.
      Fingers crossed :)

  • bought one for no freakin reason

  • Thanks! Bought 3 for $2.33 AUD delivered using the app with a signup discount , not including Cashrewards!

  • Do these break? I need some new cables for charging phones and tablet that don't break at the micro USB end.

    • +1

      These are USB type C.

      • +1

I'm guessing USB c doesn't equal micro USB?

        • Correct. USB Type-C is the replacement for Micro USB. Most phones still have Micro USB but newer models will come with Type-C.

        • +1

It's smaller than the regular USB type A such as regular USB sticks or computer sockets, but larger than the standard Micro USB type B used in smartphones and tablets and many small consumer electronics.

USB type C is the newer faster standard for smartphones and higher/smaller end tablets and convertibles, as well as being reversible and can carry larger currents.

  • Thanks OP, buying one when I can afford it. Broke af.

    • "just bought 99.95" "Broden" "buying one"

Seems like we have an identity crisis going on over here.
