Boost Mobile Sim Expiry - Woolworths Misguided?

I was told by a Woolworths staff member that the expiry date on the back of a Boost $40 starterpack was when they have to stop selling the product, NOT when the SIM expires. She told me that the Sim expiry date is 30 days from when you purchase the SIM.

I think she's misguided, your SIM doesn't start counting down until you activate it, and the service becomes active right? Please confirm if she's misguided or not.

  • generally the sim has use before date, like a bottle of milk, if you try use it after that its spoilt

    • Although some people can still drink the milk after the use by date and live. Just like some people can activate boost sims after the date and still succeed.

Sort of…. You have to activate the sim service BEFORE the expiry date on the package, once the service is activated, the expiry date on the package means nothing and your service is activate as long as you keep recharging as per the T&Cs

    • This is what I thought. She thought that even if I bought one that expired next year, it will only last for 30 days from today (pre-activation).

Nah, it will last until the expiry date as you think, or until activated. Whichever comes first.
