Tried these, tried the bottle trick, have also used the shell halves… and you know what? Fingers are still far superior (and even cheaper) for separating eggs. You are far less likely to break the yolk and gravity separates the whites cleanly with very little residue as the yolk rotates around in your fingers.

Hold your fingers scooped with a slight gap between them, like a spork, over a bowl to catch the whites in.

Seriously. For the cost of washing your hands (as cheap as washing these devices unless you have OCD) you get a superior outcome.

Plus you get to use the word "spork" next time you suggest it in a forum post.

      • Thanks for the tip :)

Also saves storage space in the utensil drawer

    • +17

Yes a pity you had to shell out the extra

      • if we keep spending extra like this we wont be able to afford property at Bondi Beach…..

Maybe you should check whether your credit card provides Price Drop Protection.

      • It does but only if the drop is not due to a voucher (which this is the case).

lol no one believes me… chinese govt probably subsidizes for this stuff to be shipped out of the country as a way of reducing their own waste .. LOL

  • +4

    I shouldn't, but I did. Thanks.

Oh man, I paid THREE TIMES this amount for one recently. I've used it a surprising amount though.

    • Think positive. some non-ozbargainers are paying 127 TIMES the amount at the moment, without using the code. They are subsidizing our purchase.

You MUST change currency to be AUD or it will end up to be $0.02 cents because they round up 0.01 USD to 0.02 AUD.

    • +15

      thanks, almost lost 0.01AUD

    • too late, I rushed it and paid double at 2c! That'll teach me :)

  • I'm too lazy to do the washing afterwards for this

    • That's what partner is for.

  • How do you change currency? I looked on PayPal and the site but gave up

  • I like my egg yolks but you know…. 1 cent….. I'm cheap I know

  • My kingdom for an albumenless egg.

  • Bought one a while ago for 1c. I may have gotten charged 2c.
Anyway, don't seem to use it. Waste of 2c!

  • +3

Use a plastic bottle guys, can do multiple eggs at once ;) Bought one anyway, just for the sake of it, but paid in USD >.< (too quick for myself)

Anyway, waiting game now to see if it will really turn up

  • Stuff like this just becomes junk for me after its novelty wears off. Then it just takes up space.

    • Perfect for repurposing as wacky birthday presents!

      • A 1c birthday present… Even the tape is more expensive!

  • what a waste of the 10.5% cashback!

  • +5

    Don't forget Cashrewards for 0.00105c.

  • Bought one, not sure if I'll ever use it though haha cheers OP :)

Egg shell will do the trick..thats free.

    • This is quite literally as close as you can get to free, without it being free.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one.Shame you can only get one though. Would make a great gift. ;)

    • One per account so your friends or family members could order one as well to your house to get multiple.

  • +1

I just hope they'll send it, otherwise it will be nasty to ask Paypal for a chargeback :)

  • But i like yolk

    • +1

Not in your meringues, you don't.

  • Ordered 2… lets see how it goes….

  • Price beat at office works?

  • Bloody Australia tax though. I Paid double, rate is currently at 1.28!!!
$0.02 is an outrage when our American counterparts are only spending $0.01!!!

Edit: No it didn't… paid $0.01

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one for Aud0.02, I lost 1 cent:-(

  • Thanks OP, bought 102.

  • Always wanted one of these, thanks OP lol

  • even though its 1 cent, this is honestly such a waste of money. its super easy to seperate the yolk from the white just using the shell

  • How hard would it be to write a Python script to order 1000 of these delivered to someone as a prank?

    • So they can egg yolk your house in return?

  • Unfortunately I am allergic to eggs but I still bought one…

  • Don't forget cashrewards 10.5% cashback..

  • I dont eat eggs at all. However as a bargain enthusiast this seems too good a deal to pass up.
How about alternate uses ?? Any1 got any ideas ??
Maybe i could purchase several, stick em together somehow, and have a modern abstract art sculpture 😃

  • It says coupon code invalid unless I'm doing it wrong
