I was just checking the MAIC website and it appears there may be a switching bonus for QBE. After completing the form https://maic.qld.gov.au/ctp-premium-calculator/ the QBE result said "$25 or $50 EFTPOS Card for qualifying new customers"

Can you switch every 6 months and just pay per 6 months, or is this deal only for switching for a year?

I got it previously for a 6 month renewal so unless they have changed it.

So the way I read it you just have to say you'll switch at your next registration. Nothing about that registration being 6 months or 12 months.
Suncorp have higher premiums and tend to battle with customers over legitimate claims. avoid at all costs.
As far as I'm aware CTP premiums are set by the MAIC and should be the same across the board in QLD. $352 for 12 months with Allianz, RACQ, Suncorp, QBE.

It saids I am already with them when I am not. I've been switching between them and qbe for years with the gift card promo however currently with QBE. Anyone else get this?

Did you check past the calculator page where it brings you to pick one of the four providers?
Suncorp one has listed "Choose a gift card or a donation to Youngcare" and when you pick it, the $50 eftpos option is there
