  • Where???

  • Why would you buy this when you can just wait for the next ebay sale and grab the Switch for $380 and Fifa for $69

I'd rather walk in to store and get console rather than one via ebay that gets kicked around by courier on way to me. Plus its a bunch easy with warranty dealing with Big W than online ebay store.

      • Anybody price beat this?

      • Big W have an ebay store don't they?

      • Are you joking? Have you seen the way consoles getting delivered to retail stores can be handled? They just toss them around.. and that's before they get in to the hands of the grotty little early 20s retail employees (I used to be one). Those boxes can fall from some pretty high shelving while sitting in retail stores. You should have seen the state of the PS4 Pro box that I bought from Harvey Norman on the cheap a couple of months ago. I was half expecting it to not work out of the box.

For warranty you can deal with Nintendo directly too. I've dealt with Xbox/MS directly on a few occasions with the red ring and they've been fantastic.

        • You have skewed sense of reality based on exception rather than norm. In reality an individual item gets way more beat up than bulk transported items.

For warranty it is much better to have walk in brick and motor store with face to face contact than fronting postage cost and contacting people inter-state. All for your hypothetical future ebay discount.

        • @wanderlei: My skewed sense of reality is based on working in nine different retail locations that sell consoles, different delivery services such as Star Track, Toll and DHL delivering consoles, often one at a time in a larger box with an insufficient amount of bubble wrap sent from the store's warehouse. I've witnessed dozens of different staff members handling video game consoles, some which wouldn't know a Switch from a DVD player.

          What's your 'norm' reality?

Xbox used to supply a reply paid address for returns under warranty. Not sure about these days. Unfortunately it looks like Nintendo doesn't. I've never had to return a Nintendo device though. Have you? I live about 10 minutes from Stud Rd, Scoresby so I'd probably try a drop off =)

        • @Putnum:

So you were given a badly damaged box for expensive device in store and did not ask for an undamaged one? You are not very bright.

Supplier > Retailers distributions centre > palletised consignment to retail store.

A single item via courier.post goes through ALL that, then literally thrown, dropped and soccer kicked around a sort center. Then literally thrown in back of a white van and bounced around all day

    Expensive

  • Anyone know if JB can match this? I got a JB gift card.

They sometimes will. I asked and they said they could as long as Big W had stock. (asked at Strand store in Sydney NSW).

That being said, Big W has benefit of 5% off through egift cards if you buy a few hours in advance.

  • Seems to me that the current Switch console bundle at EB Games is the cheapest in Australia? Anyone know of cheaper?
