  • If you buy this would the warranty be covered in Australia?

Worth mentioning an updated model was just released - WH-1000xM2.

Few new features and lower RRP. https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/09/sonys-excellent-noise-can…

FYI, $25 more to get it within Australia. https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/sony-mdr-1000x-bluet…

Cheers, do note that is preorder and stock is expected Oct 4, so you'll need a total of 3 ~ 4 weeks wait.

  • It's too bad they are almost guaranteed to break after a few months.
A common problem with the first model of this headset and a pain in the ass to deal with warranty.

    Buyers Beware!

last time i put up the same warning and got 15 dislikes,

You know everyone who bought one, and not a single one of them didn't crack?
I questioned your methodology, not the result.

ppl hated warning like this for some reasons.

I have had mine for over 6 months and its still fine like new

        • +2

ya someone said that too and i told him it better cracked be4 the warranty expires then after, then i got another dislike…

  • Relative to the QC35: Better sound quality, less comfort, cracking joints?

Still can't decide which one to get

same boat, I might bit the bullet and go for QC35 II

"better sound quality"… Have you heard both? I find MDR painful to listen to due to the way it reproduces Bass. Is it 'better'? well it's 'cleaner' and its sharp but I do not want to listen to it. QC35 Bass is not as 'clean' but at least it's not a pain to listen to.

        What does this even mean??

        • “What does this even mean??” <- what does this mean?

        • -1

it means just ignore him, everyone got a different personal preferences for sound signature, u think MDR sounds better? good stay that way.

          @samelight:

I am not sure who that was directed to but after reading your comment I would like to write my comment differently:
"Listen to the headphones yourself. Everyone has their preferences and just because someone wrote that MDR sounds better doesn't mean it will be better for you. Make your decision based on your personal experience. For example, MDR has a faster bass transient response than QC but the way MDR is equalised makes it a painful listening experience for me."

@g1: The Bose sounded soulless to me. Like all their products.

        • @lostn: Its not the best sounding headphone out there. If there was a NC headphone with QC35 NC and Momentum 2 sound quality that would be a good headphone, for my tastes!

      • more handy features

Relative to the QC35: Better sound quality, less comfort, cracking joints?

Additionally from what I've read Bose handles multiple devices better, Sony has some neat features such as allowing background noise through on demand. Controls wise I've seen a few complaints that the Sony's touch pad on the cup is awkward and imprecise vs standard buttons, but not everyone's had issues either.

Most seem to say Sony has the better audio but a few prefer Bose. Noise Cancellation seems roughly equal.

Personally (risk of) cracking joins would rule this model out for me. Sitting on the fence to see if the WH-1000xM2 addresses that concern and will then do a side by side with the QC35 (or QC-35 II).
