Very good value considering their other M2011 models are significantly dearer.

    • +1

Yeah I think this is the cheapest it's been on Ozbargain.
But the Ochstin Chronograph Black Watch is cheaper & I like the look of it over the Megir.

  • +1

Naviforce 9044 looks far better than this on the wrist but its three dials make it worth a try.

  • That GUANQIN is certainly mechanical but is it truly an automatic? Curiously, the word 'automatic' is nowhere on the watch.

    • +2

It's sold out now, but it has a display caseback, so you can see the auto movement.
GUANQIN GJ16028 Silver White Sold Out, Discontinued

      • Yes, you can actually see the movement is mechanical. As you obviously know, not all mechanical watches are automatic - a word we cannot see on that watch. Some vendors on eBay etc use the word automatic when describing a watch that is not. I have seen 'automatic' in descriptions for some quartz watches, and I suppose you too have come across that.

        • +1

You can see the gold rotor through the case back which confirms that it is automatic.

        • @adhin: OK, I'll set scepticism aside and accept it is automatic. Numerous GUANQIN models bear the word AUTOMATIC and it mystifies me why they omitted it on that one as it understandably enhances the perceived value.

Is this an okay watch? I could use a spare watch to wear while the Apple Watch is charging, I’d never worn a watch before but my wrist feels naked without it all the sudden. Or should I just buy a second Apple Watch?

    • +4

I'm sure it would be an excellent value backup. Also consider the Ochstin OP mentioned earlier https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/329953 … I nearly broke my own strict rules for the orange version. I am confident that second Apple watch is not the best idea you ever had.

      • +1

But you can make calls with the new one…

But this is more in my budget. Do you know of any cheap men’s watches, flat, round, and gold colour? Doesn’t even have to be men’s, I can put a simple leather ban on a woman’s watch and call it unisex if it’s plain enough.

        • There are many watches available that fit your description. Do you mean similar to a Horse branded Bauhaus style watch - minus the branding of course? You need to be more precise with what you call cheap. $20, $50, $100. Also, how long are you expecting it to last? Since you get what you pay for.

        • Consider this …

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GUANQIN-GS19026-Genuine-Leather-W…
… either champagne or black dial, genuine leather strap, 37.9mm, ~$23.50 free standard shipping:-

        • something like that Horse, but coloured fake gold. Something about $10 would be perfect, then if I drop it in the ocean it won’t matter.

      • But for non-watch community, the word Megir can be seem as premium and doesn't sounds cheap or revealed as knockoffs china branding, compared to those Ostrich or GuanQin

        • +2

The Ostrich is generally made in Africa.

The watch looks beautiful to a layperson like me. It still blows my mind that we can get decent watches for under $20.

  • +3

Found this on youtube of how they make the watch

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkNd_XxNObM

    • Great value for this price.

  • This deal just makes me miss Timex Weekender bargains. There hasn't been one for awhile.

    • When they're on special at Amazon, they usually don't ship to Aus anymore.

  • I'm happy with my Naviforce watch from Banggood/Gearbest

  • Thanks mate. Bought a Megir.

  • Bought this watch last year and the watch stopped working. I highly suspect it just needs a replacement battery. Any idea which type of battery should I get? ?

    • +1

If you are asking about the battery type then it sounds like you are going to replace it yourself.
So you need to pop the back off & see what's already inside.

      • +1

yeah i reckon I can do it myself, considering the price of the watch is just around $12 so I reckon there's no point getting it replaced for $10 haha. I've replaced my previous Casio Edifice battery and it took like 5 mins with some tutorial from Youtube. The battery itself costs like $3-4 from ebay

      • +2

alright done, it says Sony SR920SW …pretty straight forward haha, yeah like you said, just used a small flat head screw driver and popped the back off…I reckon this will do just fine: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-x-Brand-new-SONY-Silver-Oxide-S…

        • +1

Yes, always Silver Oxide for accuracy, never alkaline.

      • How do you set the date on this watch?

        pull the crown twice ?

I've pulled once to adjust the time, but it's quite long already, should i pull it further out to adjust the date ?

        • Once to change date (rotate crown clockwise).
Twice to change time (clockwise or anti-clockwise).
          Three to break.

Maybe yours is stuffed, or maybe you're missing the first click…

    • Yeah, batteries.

My impression with the cheap CCP watches is the battery is typically low spec. It makes sense - they're trying to limit the cost - and as long as it arrives working they're out of the woods.

While the battery cost is comparable to the watch, in reality they both cost sfa.

I have the M2011 and just a note to light sleepers like myself, it has a noticeable ticking noise

    • Good information.

I wanna order this watch but I ordered last time through Gearbest, its never been delivered. :(

    • +1

PM their rep on here with your order number, as long as it has been 40+ days since your order.

      • +1

Its much longer. But the worst part is not just gearbest but also paypal.
I contacted paypal after certain date of waiting and they said they will check with Gearbest and delivery. I said ok, but after 10-20 days they just close the case.
I called the center and they said the conversation email isn't active over period of time then its automatic close. I asked based on last conversation, you said you will contact Gerabest and delivery to solve it so of course I am just waiting. What should i do ? Just write some words to keep the message alive ?
Worst service ever. I dont bother to argue anymore because its only 20-30$ (even though I paid fast delivery just to be sure getting better delivery).

        • +1

I have found you get a much better response contacting the reps on here for most of the stores than going through the normal channels, it's worth a try.

        • Yes, PM the GearBest rep - he is quite helpful - and let us know the outcome.

        • +1

Yes, you need to keep track of the deadlines once you've raised a dispute, otherwise it will automatically (and understandably) close.

I personally have mixed results with eBay/PayPal. They recently insisted an orange was an apple, despite the clear evidence to the contrary.

BTW Gearbest takes forever to deliver. BangGood is much faster, but have a more limited range when it comes to watches (at least in my experience).
