  • They still blocking root/jailbreak? If so, Nintendo can cram it. Sure there's ways around it, but it's the principle of the matter.

    Also, the reviews were average.

    • +2

I presume still can't play offline either?

    • -1

Yea extra levels definitely not worth it

    • lol, I forgot it was even a thing as they released the iOS version and never gave a date for Android.

      Will pass.

    • They still blocking root/jailbreak?

So THAT's why the damn game doesn't run on my phone!

Oh well, guess I'll stick with Zelda: BotW.

      • On your phone?

  • +21

Jesus, they wanted 15 for this crap?

Just buy the Rayman phone games. They're proof that you can take a side scrolling platformer, turn it into an endless runner, and not make it absolute shit.

    And a reasonable price (IIRC)

    • +2

      Preach brother

      • +4

        And they work offline.

I have one of them on my little smart watch thing and it's great. Bought it years ago, but the one touch gameplay makes it perfect for the watch.

    • Which one? I just downloaded Rayman Classic and it's an horrible pixelated port of a pretty average game to begin with.

  • +1

Would have been good for the START of the school holidays…

    Just sayin..

    GC

    • Why? At least give the kids a real Mario game, not this trash.

Better yet, give them a Pokemon game and make them read.

      • +3

School holidays are only just starting now in Victoria

        Just sayin

Super Mario Run Full Game Unlock 50% off ($7.50) from 29 September

      • And memorise….My 6 year old has bunch of stats memorised and he doesnt even play the game lolll

  • Anyone else interpreting this as 50% off in app purchases only?

It doesn't imply a full game unlock at all.

    Quote:
"In order to unlock the new world, players will have to complete all of the stages in World 1 through World 6."

When you go to the screen to buy it; it currently references to purchasing 6 worlds. Thus implies the new worlds will be another in-app purchase.

If you buy both on the 29th, my guess is that it will be $15 for both world sets.

    • +8

      It'sa me, making bank!

    • +1

Additionally, the update will add a new world that contains nine new levels and features new enemies, more pink, purple and black coins to find, and new gameplay mechanics to check out. In order to unlock the new world, players will have to complete all of the stages in World 1 through World 6.

No way they are charging $15 just for 9 more levels where you have to complete the first six worlds to unlock, surely not?

It's called an update, not DLC…

This source says full game unlock I can't read the actual source since it needs iOS 11, hoping for a Google Play sale.

    • +1

The full game is an in-app purchase, the game is free to download.

  • I've been waiting for this for ages, it's not so bad, but I'm not paying over $10 for an iOS game on iTunes

  • +3

Wasn’t it only $10 last year?

  • -6

    This is not a deal

    • How do you figure?

        • +5

It's still 50% off, hence it's a deal. Stop acting like it's not because you personally don't like the game. It's irritating.

        • -7

@thescarecrow84: it'd be a deal if it was free

      • Its a deal… even if it is in Nintendos skewed understanding of mobile platforms.

  • i'm still playing the free version on the toilet sometimes.

one round on the match making mode is enough time usually.

    • +2

Remind me not to use the ipad in your house :)

      • +11

on the iphone, so probably best not to shake my hand. ever.

  • It's a pretty crap game to be honest

  • For such a short game, its not really even worth $7.50 TBH.

  • No worth $7.5 the free version is limited at $1 i may buy the full version.

  • +3

    Its not even $7.50.
    It's $7.99

    https://supermariorun.com/special-price/index.html

(UPTO 50% off, not 50% off)

    • +1

Thanks for that, I'll update the post.

    • +1

      NZ get 50% off 14.99NZD➡7.49NZD 😕

  • +2

I enjoy the free version a bit, played for a good couple of hours. I'm happy to support it for the price of a milkshake.

    • -2

i'll wait till its the equivalent of a $5 shake.

now give me back my bad mother f**ker

go on, take the money inside. count it. it's yours. now with that and the other wallets and whats in the register i'd say it was a pretty successful robbery.

as for the briefcase, sorry i can't give it to you because it doesn't belong to me.

      glowsticks. lots of imported glowsticks.

    • oh my, where do you get your milkshakes?

      • pulp fiction

  • +1

Nintendo also have a family to feed, we need to support them if not how could we have great consoles like the switch and the popular mini super Nintendo? Small price to pay better than the rest of the other junk in the App Store like angry birds.

    • -4

if they want to feed their family with the same damn game over and over then i say let them starve.

  • -5

(profanity) Nintendo - sick of their shit, just release all the original games to IOS for $2 a pop and enjoy your millions of dollars.

    • +5

Good luck playing those on a touchscreen.

      • -4

Easily done on Android - emulators for life.

        • -1

          OK, pirate.

    • +12

Yeah, a company with a market cap of US$53.8 billion — Nintendo is valued more than Sony — should take business advice from random internet commentators.

      https://asia.nikkei.com/Markets/Tokyo-Market/Nintendo-s-Swit…

    • This is where Sega outshines Nintendo. A fan recreates a modern remake of classic Sonic the Hedgehog (widescreen support, higher frame-rate, bug fixes, etc), but instead of suing him… Sega hires him to release official mobile ports of the classic games (except Sonic 3 for some reason). The fan then goes on to create Sonic Mania with Sega's backing, which is the best reviewed Sonic game in 15 years.

  • Darn it i already finish the whole game. Lol

  • +6

Don’t understand the hate, my son and I think it’s aweaome and easily worth the $15 (less then one crappy movie these days) and at half price is a bargain.

    • -2

Its because apps are usually cheap. Usually >$5

      • +1

I think you mean '<,' but the notion that apps must cost $5 is outdated because they're not all made equal. The Witness just hit iPads for $15 and it's the same game as the one on Steam for US$40. Is that a rip-off too?

    • -2

And also, I wouldn't pay a penny over ten for a movie at the cinemas. Got Reading down the road at ten, my local is 8.50 normal price too.

15 is ridiculous for this game. Just because you personally can get 15 dollars worth out of something, doesn't mean it itself is worth that 15 dollars.

      • Why? 3DS games are $59. Sure, the controls aren't as nice as a handheld Mario, but it has a lot more than 1/4 the content once DLC is unlocked. The Fire Emblem mobile game is quite similar to mainline titles from that series, and the DLC costs a hell of a lot more than $8.

  • +1

I dont get it, is it free or is it 7.99?

    • It was 15.99. Will be 7.99 from 29th. (49% off)

    • +3

Free to download what is basically a demo with only a single world, usually $14.99 as an in-app purchase to unlock the full game, which will be reduced to $7.99 during the sales period.

      • +1

thanks for the clarification, I understand now :)

  • +3

    Awesome, will buy now!

  • +6

This game is worth $15. For me, it filled the same gap as Super Mario Maker on 3ds, a $60 game. People can call it crap because its on mobile, or because it needs a data connection, but it's quality, and one if the best mobile gaming experiences on android

  • I remember when everything nintendo made was rolled gold AAA quality. Id go down the shop and throw my hard earned dollars down without hesitation if ninty made it.

Mario, zelda, kirby, metroid, punch out, okay kid icarus was a bit crap but otherwise i dont think any publisher could touch them back in their golden age.

Nowadays the nintendo name is a guarantee that the game isnt absolute crap but its not really an assurance that the game is good.

  • Update and sale live now

    • +1

You beat me to it. I Just bought it.

  • +1

    Bought it, cheers OP :)

  • @remindme sounds awesome!

  • Will the price revert back to AUD 14.99 after 13 Oct?
