Los Angeles Return from Melbourne $882, Brisbane $894, Sydney $897, Perth $1002, Adelaide $1005 via Qantas @ IWTF
Qantas is having a sale on flights to Los Angeles. Travel in Apr - Jul/18. Flights are direct from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Good point. 1hr for domestic-international transfer to US sounds dreadful.
Actually, it is. Or at least it will be when the Perth to London direct flight begins. The 787 will go from Perth to London, then back to Perth. From there it goes from Perth to Melbourne, and then from Melbourne to LAX. That's this connection right here, QF768 to QF95. Hence, no issue with the short changeover, because you'll likely clear immigration before departing Perth, and there is no plane change in Melbourne. :)
Actually, I was a little off the mark. The 787 connection is QF10 - QF95, not QF768 to QF95. So there would be a plane change on the above itinerary. QF10 leaves 15 minutes earlier at 14:45. Which is interesting. Given QF768 is just a normal domestic flight, I'm not sure you would be able to clear immigration in Perth, and the connection would be tight. I guess given Qantas are selling it on their website too, they know it will work.
I’ve never had issues with Qantas or Emirates with tight changeover times. If it’s booked on the same itinerary, they’ll make it work or make changes on their end to get you to your destination.
When a flight was late heading to the US, my connecting flight on American was already changed to a later flight before landing in the US due to a departure delay. Walked off, grabbed my new boarding pass and no stress.
@Ashman247: Absolutely, same for me. I usually book the tightest connections possible from Perth to LAX, and fly it several times a year. No concern about missing connections, it rarely has happened for me and they always look after you.
Was more just pointing out the specifics of why the itinerary posted will be achievable. Until these changes, Qantas wouldn't have allowed you to book such a tight connection from Perth through the eastern states - but the changes that the Perth to London flight create will make things a bit different…
Doable. Have done this heaps in the past few years. You'll clear immigration in Perth and waste time wandering Melbs airport before flying.
The return flight is usually the crazier one where you'd have to clear immigration within a short layover time in the city you arrive in. Melbs is the best as the terminals are next to each other while Sydney's the worst in my experience with the slow bus transfer. Brissie usually has a 1.5hr ish layover (for the quickest overall travel time) but if you're held up at customs you'll miss your plane.
$799 and under is target price, thanks
Dreamer not with QF anyway
Is this economy or business class? Haha jk, had my business class flights cancelled from that other deal, can't look at economy prices the same now :(
The one for air nz?
Yep
Wow
In lucky
Did everyone's get cancelled?
@Hirolol:
Afaik
Thanks!! Booked, I booked for 2 weeks. Is that long enough for my first time to the states?!
2 weeks is fine but a bit longer would have been better maybe 3-4.
yes but make sure you limit your LA/LV jaunt to a couple of days and spend as much time in NYC as possible!
Agreed. NYC is a place you spend ages discovering all the little pockets and notable places from movies, tv shows and pretty much everything else.
I get different search results/ prices using mobile and laptop. Mobile is cheaper. Is that normal?
Guys, I booked with cheapoairs but they've got some bad reviews!! Has anyone used them before?
Planning on going to LA and Vegas for my bday and my mates 30th from 19-28 in May which comes to around $919 for Qantas.
Does IWTF do installment payments for the flight? I am sure Flight Centre or Sta Travel did, can someone confirm?
