Xiaomi Mi Smart Weight Scale $48/ $39 Incl Shipping @ Gearbite eBay

140
PARTY18

NOTE: it's $39 if you meet minimum spend of coupon code. Otherwise it's $48. Both good prices.

Great price for the xiaomi smart Bluetooth weight scale! Just bought it a few days ago and I'm incredibly impressed. Great build quality, instant weight (no waiting for startup/calibration, very easy to sync with mi fit app etc. Can probably use other apps too, but haven't tried.

For $39 including shipping from Australian seller, you should definitely get this one. Even if you don't care about syncing with phone, it's still well worth it just for a high quality good looking scale. If you don't reach minimum order value for discount, it's still a bargain at $48.

DISCLAIMER: this is the first version. They just recently released version2 which measures bodyfat etc as well. Honestly, it's mostly a gimmick and I wouldn't worry about it, but thought I should mention it to be clear.

…why is she weighing her toes?

      because she's mentally ill

Ahh, I always wondered what 'Mi' stood for.

    • +14

How else to find out her toe-tal weight?

      • Love it!

Nice description , great sales pitch ;)

    Wha?

The catty or kati (/ˈkɛtɪ/ in Singaporean English[1]), symbol 斤, is a traditional Chinese unit of mass used across East and Southeast Asia, notably for weighing food and other groceries in some wet markets, street markets, and shops.

Well there you go. I've never ever heard of that before. Now I have.

    • KG x 2 = Catty

        Reverse.

  • Just bought a $20 weight last weekend in Costco, not sure if all these features: great build quality, instant weight (no waiting for startup/calibration) worth the extra money haha

Slightly different. This has a display. Yours could just be a heavy black disc.

    • which brand and model?

      • I think it's called Weight Watcher look a bit similar to this:https://www.amazon.com/Weight-Watchers-Scales-Conair-Digital/dp/B000OCLW3S

    • Had one for 7 months and I bought it for $28, definitely worth the extra 😄

      • Whoa whoa, how'd you get that price??

        • Bought it oversea bro. :)

        • @ntb:
          Ah that's awesome. Congrats!

Each to their own. I think you'd be crazy to not add an extra $19 for the Xiaomi scale. Not just for the extra features, but it looks much nicer too I'm sure. Unless you specifically want a mechanical scale without batteries, which in that case makes them somewhat not comparable.

Edit: that said, I wasn't expecting a lot of traction on ozbargain for an item like this, so your reaction is expected :)

    • What model was it?

        • You paid $20 for that? How ironic lol.

From the image, this is the version 1 of the scale. version 2 has 4 metallic pads in each corner of the scale.

  • I want someone to look at me like the way she's looking at her toes.

Australia local store with the same price. quicker delivery? or pick up.

    • That doesn't look very Australian to me

      • or because it is cheaper?

    • +1

I have no idea what that store is or if legit (and how much postage is), but since it's in Chinese, it doesn't inspire confidence. The store I listed is a reputable Australian store which ships for free from Australia. And they speak English.

      • Do they provide warranty for the product that they are selling?

        • To the extent that any Australian reseller has to. Obviously warranty claims for the xiaomi brand will be difficult through any reseller. I haven't had any claim with Gearbite, so I don't know if they are better or worse than average in this regard.

I have one, what can I say I am still fat, the device does not work :), all I have show for my investment is a logged history steady flat line just been fat.

Also advice to any new marriages, don't buy this as a gift for your spouse. :)

Unless she asks for something that goes from 0 to 100 in under 10 seconds.

      • One of those comments that makes me go "why didn't I think of that?".

OP - what makes you say the bodyfat measurement is a gimmick? I would certainly pay extra for that, as those of us who have a bit of muscle can't rely on BMI.

    • From what I have heard it's because the absolute values aren't accurate. However the relative values are reasonable, i.e. if you go from 22.1% to 18.7% the difference (3.4%) is reasonably accurate.

    • Just my opinion. Guess I thought others felt the same way. It's not at all accurate, but can be used to somewhat track losses though. Which is where I feel that you might as well just your total weight loss to approximate fat losses.

  • K-Mart has scales that measure body fat percentage for $20. For $30 you get bluetooth as well.

    • Seems like a decent price, as is usually the case with kmart products. But at the end of the day, it's a generic kmart product. Budget vs top of the line.

    I want a ShapeScale.

Hopefully Xiaomi will release a much cheaper version soon :)

    • That is very cool! Not sure where you are supposed to put it though, you'd need a lot of clearance. Wouldn't fit in any normal sized bathroom.
