Cheap Saudi Airfare from Kuala Lumpur to Johannesburg Makes AUS-SA Sub- $1000

Saudi air has KUL-JNB for $724rt for 17/4 to 28/4 for example. (A little bit more on the official website).

For those who booked a cheap flight to Kuala Lumpur on air asia recently this would make it sub-$1000 to SA.

The Good: Short stopovers in Jeddah
The Bad: It is the long way around
The Ugly: Dry airline

Cheapest price from Sydney is about $1600 direct or $1400 via Perth.

Actually, I see it's 18h KUL-JNB and 20h JNB-KUL,
PLUS your flying time to SYD-KUL,
making this a very inconvenient flight, suitable only for those on a very low budget, or those interested in a stopover in KUL.
Once upon a time I would have been desperate for a deal like this,
but these days the direct flight is only 14H, this would turn it into almost 30H of travelling.
