Has Any One Bought and Used a Kogan Mobile Phone?

HI all iam considering buying a Kogan mobile phone, as my Huawei Y600 is ready to die. Can any one give me info on Kogan Mobile Phones, I have been looking at Kogan Agora 8 4G LTE for $159.00. I'm just not sure if my SIM card (Telstra pre paid) will fit. Would appreciate comments and input. Thanks.

You want a micro SIM for the primary slot. Telstra will give you the right one for a small free or else you can get adaptors on ebay if you have a nano SIM. You can use scissors if you have a mini SIM (unlikely).

Personally though i think it'd be crap, i've had friends buy similar models and they're always buggy. Get a Moto C for the same price from Officeworks IMO. Or if you're quick the Moto G4 Play is on clearance for $100.

    don't waste your money.

    for $119 you can get a Xiaomi Mi4 from Shopmonk(White, 2GB ,16 GB)

or for AU $136.00 a Xiaomi Redmi 4X (Gold, 16 GB, RAM 2 GB)

or for AU$156 a Xiaomi Redmi 4X (Gold, 32 GB, RAM 3 GB)

each of the Xiaomi's has better screen res, larger battery, superior CPU +GPU.

the only thing the Kogan has going for it (but not really an issue) is band 28

  • Hi altomic,

Ive kinda steered away from these phones only beacause, they are OS, so didnt know if they worked in Australia, so with these they are unlocked and u can put u own sim card in.? ARE they user friendly.. have never been great with mobiles, do you have 1? Thanks .

    • they will work in oz and they are unlocked. whack in a sim and you are ready to go. i don't have a xiaomi but have bought a number of china phones and have been relatively happy with them (I say relatively because a deal comes along after 12months or 2 years or so for a better phone and I jump to that). I currently have a lenovo K3 note, before that Blackview Alife P1, before that an elephone, before another lenovo, before that a S3 clone.

all were pretty decent for their time and price.

they have all been user friendly, they use an easy to navigate visual touchscreen interface.
