Will Gear S3 Frontier eSIM Start Working?

With the Apple watch 3 coming along, suddenly Telstra, Optus and Virgin will be supporting the LTE eSIM. Does anyone know if the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier which has LTE in the US actually has the eSIM inside, just inactive in Australia because the carriers didn't support it? I'm wondering if the Gear S3 actually has the hardware and will suddenly be even more useful than it is already
