Fastway Delivery Issues and Advice

Hi All,

I purchased a monitor last Sunday off the Futu_online ebay store, but long story short it was delivered to the wrong house (I live at house number 24, it was delivered to 91). I was only made aware of this because the resident at 91 called me 3 days after he accepted the delivery of the parcel.

At the moment I have two options:
- Wait for Fastway to retrieve the parcel and deliver it to me. Fastway customer service has just been leading me in circles, telling me their office has been notified and there is nothing further they can do. I was also in contact with the courier franchisee but I did not get a straight answer as to why it was delivered to the wrong address, and I still have no answers on when it will be retrieved.
- Go to the house it was delivered to and take it back myself (I have the contact number and name of the resident). I am worried that if the item was opened/damaged, I will have no way to prove that I didn't do it making it difficult to obtain a refund/exchange. The monitor was delivered on Tuesday, so its been nearly a week sitting in someone elses house.

After e-mailing the Futu ebay store, I was told if the box looks like it was opened or tampered with in anyway to inform them so that they can process a claim with Fastway, so I feel like they understand my concern. I feel helpless dealing with Fastway, but I'm just trying to play it safe and wait for them to sort it out.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Wrong house or did you/them put the wrong address? You'll know soon enough once you see the package.

As its not that far from you, head for that massive long walk from number 24 to 91 and have a talk to them. Have a look at the box. If it looks damaged/opened etc, then take some pictures, leave it there and let them know fastway will be back to pick it up. When they then deliver it to you, reject the parcel for damage.

If it looks ok, pick it up. Say thank you to the number 91, maybe give them note as thanks or a bottle or something or a box of chocolate.

Misdeliveries happen. But if the box looks fine, then just go pick it up, and get the issue cleared up.

Definitely wrong house. Confirmed my delivery address with Futu and Fastway, resident at 91 also confirmed my address on the parcel. I was a little frustrated at them for accepting the parcel in the first place and then taking 3 days to contact me knowing my full name and address.

        ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know where it is, they most likely signed for it, without looking at the LABEL. I 99% never look at the labels when signing for parcels if expecting something. So maybe they did that.

Maybe they thought fastway would come back and get it.

ANYHOW, you know its location, its close by. Go for a walk and sort it out in no time at all. Clearly they don't want it, as they called you to come and get it. They could have said nothing and scored a free monitor!

Your lucky they even contacted you, ive had parcels delivered to the wrong address and they just kept it.

My monitor got delivered to the wrong person too but the other person never contacted me. Fastway is appallingly useless (both the delivery person and the company) - they couldn't care less and if the retailer chooses not to contact them on your behalf, you're pretty much screwed.

    • Yeah, they don't care at all.

I made a complaint because it took 9 days for them to deliver two suburbs over, had every excuse under the sun why they couldn't deliver. Then when it finally got delivered, they guy just dumped the parcel on top of the bins at the front of the property because he couldn't be bothered walking up the stairs.

Complained again, got more excuses, no followup, zero fks given. I actively avoid buying from companies that use Fastway.

Just go and pick up your monitor already.

  • Fastway are usually the cheapest option for companies to courier their stuff, so especially when competing in a price sensitive market (like computer hardware) they will always go with that instead of risking losing a sale.

I wouldn't bother contacting Fastway. I would contact the store and let them know the issues you had with Fastway. They won't change but at least if tons of people call up with issues they might in fact decide it's not worth it.

Plus: Just go and pick up your monitor already.

  • You aren't Fastways customer, Futu is, do exactly what Futu tells you to do. However since it was delivered to the wrong address you should ask for a full refund from futu for postage costs. Fastway should provide a full refund to futu. Go get the package yourself.
