Dunlopillo 2 Pack Luxurious Talalay Latex Classic $108 Delivered ($54/Each) was $279.90 @ Planet Linen Online eBay

760
PICNIC

Original 20% off Selected Stores on eBay Deal Post

Recently read Barefoot Investor and decided to look at reviews for Dunlopillo, which also seemed to support it (as did previous Ozbargain posts). Two pack seems like great value at $54 each. I understand that the quantity available is below 10 (7 for 2 pack/ 8 for 1 pack) at time of posting, however they updated the quantity slightly after I purchased one, so hopefully they continue to do so, or some of you manage to grab one before it sells out. Feel free to move to forums if deemed inappropriate due to quantity.

Single pack link for $71.95 with PICNIC code.

Dunlopillo used to make a fantastic pillow.
However, I bought one end of last year to replace my 4 year old pillow and it lasted about 6 months before it had lost its spring.
There's nothing wrong with my 4 yo Dunlopillo, but I thought 4 years is getting a bit long in the tooth.
I have read a few comments online that they switched to an overseas latex supplier roughly 3-4 years ago to cut costs.
Such a shame, I'm now using the $29 Kmart latex pillow until I can find a suitable replacement.

There was a post from TLC latex pillows a week or so ago. Did you miss it?

      • I did miss it. Looks interesting, I might give it a crack.
        Thanks

    • +3

Yes, Dunlopillo is not longer the same.
They cheapen the latex material over the last few years and it is not the same pillow as before.

I use the Target Memory Foam pillow.

Does it really matter what pillow you use, so long as it holds your head in the right place and doesn’t get all sweaty? If these $100 luxury pillows aren’t good enough then what else could be.

  • It's not accepting my PICNIC code. Anyone else getting this too? "This code can't be applied to your order."

    • just ordered, appears you need to pay with paypal to use the code.

    • Try paypal. If it doesnt work then you screenshot it and contact ebay support. They will refund you the price difference. My account no longer accepts coupons and they can't fix it for some reason

  • Thanks OP, perfect timing!
Paypal/Amex didn't work, had to use Paypal/Bank account.

Pulled the trigger on the High Profile Medium Feel 2 pack for $127.20 with code. Thanks OP

      Ditto

Thanks for the prompt to look for high profile, and to OP for the great post.

Good luck with the high profile! I tried it once and it gave me a really sore neck. Much too high. Luckily got a return by blaming it on the smell of the pillow making me feel sick. Pillows are so hard to try in a store, yet so hard to return/exchange!

    Great price and great find!

Debating as to whether i should buy a pillow online without knowing what it feels like

My advice would be to at least eyeball them in a shop, first. Get the best impression you can. It's a lot of dough to spend, to be dissatisfied and relegate them to a guest bedroom.

.. But I probably just have a fat, heavy skull and am quite fussy!

I went to Myer to pick one of these up when it was on sale in June. Walked in there sure I was going to buy it, then didn't like the feel and bought a different one entirely (Dentons memory foam).

They are good pillows if you like this type of pillow, but try a few out to get an idea for what you really like. It might be latex like this one, memory foam, feather or down, or some combination of the above.

    • We have been using Dentons memory foam pillows for years and love them.

The mentioning of the RRP of $279 is extremely misleading… It was never that price. It's been $148 since July up until a few days ago where it's now sitting at $135.

It is a pillow. If not for the comments I wouldn't even know.

Bought one after reading all the reviews about Dunlopillo on Reddit and OzBargain about how great of a pillow it is and how long it will last.

I have no doubt that this product will last a while considering latex is a very durable material however there are a number of cons I've experienced.

    • It was rather expensive at $80 when I purchased
    • When I first unpackaged it, there was a horrible smell that disappeared after leaving it outside to air in the sun for two weeks
    • If you are used to fluffy high down pillows, you will notice how much more heat the latex pillow retains compared to down, it gets rather hot at night but I heard a cotton or wool pillow cover/protector can help with this. I didn't end up buying one because those are expensive too and I didn't want to sink more money into a pillow
    • The medium profile isn't that 'medium' as I thought, was rather flat/low.

After trying it for a few months, I still would prefer a cheap down high fluffy pillow. The Dunlopillo is now a couch pillow which I'm sure will last me an eternity.

leaving it outside to air in the sun for two weeks

Worst thing you can do with a latex pillow is leave it out in the sun, latex is biodegradable and the sunlight will degrade and discolour it.

      • Says not to do it in the instructions.

  • I don't know about this type of pillow.

I used to always get headache but every since I changed my pillow to Dunlopillo Therapillo Memory Foam one, my headache is gone!!! (The 20% off also available for the Theropillo). I literally spend an hour at DJ and Myer trying every single one of the pillow at the shop and picked this.

I suggest people try it first at a store before buying it because also the size does matter to you too.

I also have a Therapillo memory foam that I bought from a Harris Scarfe deal here.

So comfortable and worth every cent, think I paid $79 for mine.

      • Yup just bought at 2nd one for my bedroom in my mum place using this deal! i get headache everytime i go back home to mum's place. (not it all sold out, argh I want to buy another one)…I wonder if other memory foam also good, which memory foam you got?

        https://www.dunlopillo-bedding.com.au/therapillo-memory-foam…

I think I paid my first one for more than $100, I was that desperate for a good comfy one.

        • I got this one: https://goo.gl/EjfsGH

I think I paid my first one for more than $100, I was that desperate for a good comfy one.

Still worth it when you consider how much time you spend using it.

ALDI sometimes have some for about $40, will give them a try next time they are on sale as I need another one.
