Looking for a Built in Hooded BBQ

My built in BBQ is not working well, and I think a replacement is on the cards. The plan was to go down to bunnings to pick one up, but I got to thinking that there may be some better options. I'm not looking necessarily for the cheapest, if there are better performers, but if they're all the same, then i guess price is the only determinant.

This is the kind of thing that any other suggestions would be competing with:

I've got the freestanding Jumbuck 6-burner. No complaints at all, picked up for $399.

I've tried the side burner once - bit gimmicky and underpowered for my purposes - but the sheer surface area for assorted meats and vegetables is brilliant. Guess it just depends on your available install space.

Assuming the freestanding model is the same price, you could jimny the side burner plate on your install area somehow for zero extra cost. Then, you've got a flimsy stand and wings for nothing (and an extra knob on the front of the BBQ you can't use…)

buy the enamel cooking plates separate for the upgrade, or look into indirect heat burners at the back for slow cooking goodness

I know you don't want to pay too much but for the barbecue you have already is not working well, why replace it with cheap ones from bunnings that don't cook that well and fall apart quickly.

    • I recognise the Tucker! Thats the one i have. After investigation, it looks like the burners are rusted, and not working well anymore. I've asked Tucker for a quote on replacement burners. This is probably a better solution, as the BBQ looks quite good. Thanks!

      • Yeah I'd do that, much better product than anything bunnings sells, and would cook better too.

Heatlie are amazing. Australian made. But they arent cheap.

  • How is it "not working well"?

    • Update, i did a massive spring clean on the BBQ, and discovered that 2 of the burners were not working well, because they are damaged, and the flame doesn't come out evenly. I swapped the grill and hotplate from one side to the other. This should make the grill side work better, and the hot plate i don't really use much so I'm not that bothered.

  • Hmm, maybe this one would be good:
