My favourite part of Melbourne is the departure gate at the airport. Especially after a week, it'll give you something to look forward to!

Footscray for pho
Footscray for Olympic Donuts - and Footscray is easy to get to by train from anywhere in the city. It's 10 min train trip and a nice place to walk around and discover new stuff, some awful, some great (Like Olympic Donuts, out the front of the station)
Heard the donuts place closed? It was in the news…
OK well, the owner Nick didn't sell it, he just ended his lease but a new donut place opened instead and it tastes exactly the same…
anything really because Melbourne > Sydney
¯_(ツ)_/¯I love Melbourne, lived here all my life but to be honest - we don't have a lot of unmissable sights for a tourist to see. We don't really have that wow factor for tourists - what we have instead is a great place to live and work. So if you really want to see some things, take a look at Federation Square, Flinders Street Station, the Arts Centre Spire and the National Gallery of Victoria - all within a handy few hundred metres of each other and the Yarra river. Look at the MCG in the distance and the Botanical gardens and you're pretty much done.
Now instead you should focus on coffee, food and pubs - all things that Melbourne does very well. Try a few alleyway cafes to find your morning coffee, in the evenings try some great restaurants across Melbourne then go for boozing afterwards till late in the evening. That is what Melbourne is good for.
price point?
are you willing to travel during peak hours?
coffee??
