  • Oh boooo

  • Are their Agoda coupons available?

  • Can we use this for booking fight tickets? And can we split the payment between 2 cards?

    • Ring em up, usually the call centre people can do that

      • Thanks Turd.
Looks like for flight tickets, the user is redirected to other websites.

        • Ahhh right right.. last time i rang em up for hotel booking payment, was able to use a few cc's

  • Anyone have the manual links ?

    • ignore that - link IS the manual link. thx OP

  • just called up agoda to change a booking's my payment details to use Amex card, too easy $60 redeemed got email from Amex !

    • I've got a booking with agoda for next January but I haven't paid. They only require payments 2 days before my stay. Can I call up agoda and use this to pay?

  • T&C says Only valid on payments made in Australian Dollars… does this mean for overseas hotels payment needs to be converted to AUD by Agoda?

    • agoda.com.au

your bank will change you a fee though. agoda uses offshore merchants

      • Amex don't hit you with a fee if the charge is in AUD.

(Bank-issued Amex might be different rules if they're in this offer)

    • The question is, does Agoda provide the conversion option?

      • Either way you'll be stung by the international tx fee

        • No Amex does not charge foreign transaction fee. Only when there is a conversion then it charges you the conversion fee.

        • @leiiv: Ah. I probably got (profanity) by NAB then, not Amex (NAB issued Amex)

        • dupe

        • @idonotknowwhy: I think it should apply to all amex. Anyone else can confirm this?

        • @leiiv: Applies to bank issues AMEX.

Bank will charge you intl xfer fee because agoda's merchant is done overseas

        • @Turd:

          Westpac doesnt.

        • @Turd: This makes sense. Oh well, I needed the 1.5k spend for 75k points. Still hurts a bit though

        • @idonotknowwhy:

I am on NAB Amex and have been stung a double digit fee. I am furious as it said the payment was in AUD on the payment confirmation screen.

    • I've booked a night for a hotel in Hong Kong this morning and it was charged in AUD (prepaid rate). Got the email from AMEX right away.

    • Agoda's concersion rate to AUD is very good. No rip off.
Direct issue Amex won't charge FX fee on overseas merhant. From my experience, Nab will and Westpac don't. Ymmv though.

Can this be stacked with a coupon code?

    • I would assume yes as the deal is for AMEX and they don't care if you got a good deal on the booking, just that you spent $300 on their card.

      • Cheeky how they ended the 10% off for amex cardholders voucher deal. Unless the hotel booking is under $600, the other deal was better.

    • don't see why not consdering, it is a cashback from amex.

    • Do you have a coupon code? Can you share?

      • Tried looking for one online, could not find a single one :(

        • +1

Got an email with promotion code SPECIALSEP

        • @melay0326:

Thanks for this - but now where do we enter the code - went all the way through a booking with payment about to be made but no sign of a promo code section

        • +1

@Hoju: need to login to see that option - and has to be prepaid - doesnt work on book now pay later

  • I am a bit confused with the Terms and Conditions. In the two highlighted lines, on one it says you have to spend directly at www.agoda.com and the other says only for transactions from the Agoda Australian website only. I am going to have to assume they mean the Australian sub-set off the .com website. IE: https://www.agoda.com/en-au/?setcookienew=1

Also, if you can only book through the website then this may mean you are restricted to one Amex per transaction.

    T&Cs:
    - Only valid on payments made in Australian Dollars.
    - “Pay at the hotel” bookings are not eligible.
    - “Pay Later” bookings within Australia must be charged to your Card prior to 10/10/2017 to be eligible. “Pay Later” bookings are not charged to your Card immediately, the date your Card will be charged is displayed prior to completing your booking.
    - “Pay Later” bookings for hotels outside Australia will be charged the Australian Dollar equivalent of the hotel’s local currency on the date your Card is charged. Exchange rates may vary and the amount charged in Australia Dollars may be different than what was shown when booking.
    - Offer is limited to one credit per registered Card. Only spend on the Card number you register counts towards the Offer.
    - Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly online at www.agoda.com, for example purchases made through a third party payment processor like PayPal.
    - Offer valid at Agoda Australian website only.
    - Credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
    - Credit should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.
Credit will not be applied to your Card account if the Card has been suspended or cancelled.
Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.
    Full Offer Terms available here.

Any Agoda vouchers to combine with this deal? Cashback works with Agoda?

  • Called and also checked online chat, this offer only applies to Hotel transaction

  • +1

Can the ING Agoda link be used? Otherwise, any valid Agoda codes?

  • I could not save to my Amex NAB card, it says like the system is down atm.

  • Sentational for cheapskates like me that it can be in one 'OR MORE' transactions.

  • Registered my 3 cards and then progressed to rebook some hotels, but could not beat the deals that I already had. Dammit!
If anyone wants, then I can book for them. PM me.

    • Same! I booked months ago for Japan and cant get better price.

PM me too I can book :)

    • i called Agoda to update my payment details to use my Amex card. card got charged immediately, got email from Amex that i've used my offer :)

  • Try this code to get 5% off to a max off $100 AUD- SPECIALSEP

Might be targeted but its what I just received via email.

How do you apply for this code? I dont see anywhere to apply it during the check out and payment process…

    5% cash back at CashRewards?!

    • nice pickup. Makes it a bit cheaper now.
      Woo, ski trip

  • You wonder how Agoda makes any business given that all of the other hotel sites offer loyalty schemes and discount codes.

    • I think that they do have some sort of weak scheme, where you accumulate rewards. However, if I recall correctly, it is not worth much, and the rewards quickly expire.

  • If anybody is looking to book a hotel through Agoda and doesn't have an AMEX for this offer, PM me.

  • Hmm I'm still better off using cheaptickets and their run of the mill 16% off coupon

  • Anyone using more than one card to book a stay for this offer? Is it possible to split the payment?

    • I wanted to do the same thing. Called customer care and they said one card per hotel booking unfortunately.

      • +1

Split the booking into 2, and contact the hotel direct, and ask them to consolidate the 2 bookings.

        • Unfortunately, my hotel booking is for 3 nites, price is about $230 per nite

      • Cheers

  • need to book 2 rooms for the same hotel. Agoda only lets me choose 2 of the same room? Anyone know why..

    • Not uncommon for online hotel agents to have a quota/limit. Probably after you book the 2, then when you refresh and try again, you will find that they have no availability at all for that room.

  • +1

Anyone know how to apply coupon on Agoda website? I can't find anywhere to input the code!

    • Yeh me neither. A quick google suggests that the code is automatically entered when you click into the booking link from the email

  • Anyone know if I can make two senate bookings, totalling $300 and I will get the credit? Or is it only for first spend?

    • "Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $300 or more, in one or more transactions"

  • This offer has taught me one thing. That Agoda is such a shite Hotel search engine. So many of their hotel price listings are 'Non-Refundable'! They must have decided that this would be their business plan for making money.

  • Word of warning
Some hotels won't accept payment through agoda, only a booking. It's not indicated very obviously throughout the booking process.
Made a booking and no rebate of course appeared, as the payment will be made direct to the hotel.

On the phone with agoda to cancel but they said they'll issue the $60 rebate to my amex. Not sure I believe it but I'll see what transpires…

    • Yes I noticed that, on some of Agoda's hotels, it is 'Pay at Hotel'

  • just booked, but no confirmation email

  • I booked an apartment for 2 days online at Agoda.com. It turned out the apartment/hotel charged my amex card for the fees, not agoda. I did not find any of this term at their agoda booking website.

Amex card was charged but no rebate confirmation email, am I excluded from this offer? as it is one of exclusion "pay later at hotel"?

    Not eligible for cancellation now.

Fake advertisement from agoda and Amex

    • I had the same issue. Thankfully was able to address it before the card was charged by the hotel.
The cancellation policy said I would be charged if modified or cancelled but agoda said because it was within 24 hours then it was fine to cancel.

I had previously contacted Amex saying that the agoda site is misleading - it's really bloody hard to work out if agoda or the hotel is charging you. Agoda themselves walked me through how to work it out when booking and it's a small non-specific section on the right of the page prior to booking, and even then it is very unclear.

Anyway, amex also said they'd be happy to contest the charge. I'd suggest getting onto the amex live chat and explaining you've been charged but there's no rebate. I've had them give a good will rebate in the past in this situation.

      • Thanks a lot for the information. I contacted Agoda first but got no reply.

I will contact amex through live chat to see how it gonna end.

        • I think you'll have to call them. I got no reply to emails so called.

  • is there a way of telling which are charged by agoda ?

  • If anyone needs to book but missed out on this deal, please PM me. I can help you out!
