Camera for watching pets during the day - seeking reccomendations

I'm interested in checking up on my 2 dogs and seeing what they are up to during the day. Maybe 1 inside and 1 outside under cover. I've seen deals for xiaomi cameras (I think). Would these be fit for purpose and easy to set up? Better if you can hook in via wifi during the day, but if I can look at footage when I get home that would be good too.

Anyone done anything like this?

    I can definitely stream the video during the day via phone with the xiaomi cameras via the mi home app, can also talk back through it but iirc audio comes out crap.

    May have to get a longer micro usb cable depending on distance from power point.

    i got given a Nest Cam by a friend that works for them in the US and use that. My dogs don't do squat - They lie on our bed for the 3/4 of the day

    Installed a Netgear Arlo system for exactly the same reason when our dog was a pup.
