Hello,

We're just touching base about your ASOS account today. We take online security very seriously and have detected some unusual activity related to your account. As a precaution, we recommend you immediately change your password. Rest assured that your payment details are safe.

In the meantime, we have paused your ASOS account, which will help protect your account details until you have changed your password. Once your password has been reset, your account will be restored and you can resume shopping.

To reset your password, please log onto ‪ASOS.com using the 'Forgot password?' link. Once you've changed your password, please get in touch with Customer Care by replying to this email and we'll be able to get your account restored as soon as we can.

We recommend using a password you do not use anywhere else. We'd also strongly encourage you to update any other sites where you use this password. And remember to follow these standard guidelines to create a strong password that will keep your accounts safe:

  1. Make sure your password is ideally 12 characters long
  2. Include numbers, capital letters, symbols and upper / lower case
  3. Create passwords that are easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess
  4. Don’t use widely known information like family member or pet names and dates of birth
  5. Avoid using the same password for multiple sites
  6. Don’t use dictionary words - if it’s in the dictionary, there is a chance someone will guess it
  7. Never post it in plain sight
  8. Consider using a password manager, which will automatically create strong passwords for you
  9. Don’t fall for “phishing” attacks: Be very careful before clicking on a link (even if it appears to be from a legitimate site) asking you to log in, change your password or provide any other personal information
  10. Finally, never give out your password to anyone

If you have any questions, please reply to this email - we'll be happy to help.

Best wishes,

ASOS Customer Care

  • Seems to be happening more and more these days!

    • once you go online there is no privacy anymore.
      even for just checking weather.

      • Exactly why I just use a crappy password for online shopping so doesn't matter if it gets shown. Never ever save CC details to online accounts either.

  • To reset your password, please log onto ‪ASOS.com using the 'Forgot password?' link.

This sounds like a suspicious email to me. Did they provide you with a link to reset your password in their email?

I haven't got an email and can't see anything online about them being hacked.

    • no direct link on the email.
      sender address looks legit tho.

The send address is easy to spoof. I didn't get this email from ASOS, so be weary.

        • While this is true, it seems the majority of scammers that email me don't know this.

  • My ASOS account was hacked recently and someone tried to buy gift vouchers. Fortunately I don't store any of my payment details so they were unable to complete the purchase. I contacted ASOS customer care but they couldn't care less, they pretty much said it is my fault for not changing my password regularly.

  • I would say scam, most emails from companies will address you by name according to the account you made (unless you just left that out for your privacy sale here)

  • this is a scam email. dont touch it.

  • if you are unsure go to the website and change your pw that way

Agree. Don't click on any links that the email provides.
