Hi have anyone recently been to whiteheaven/ Airlie Beach?
Me and my girl friend will go with camper van, so we will sleep in the van.
Any day cruise that you guys and recommend? There are so many options.

If you go on a large boat then you will have lots of people.
But then if you go on a small boat / seaplane you still cannot stop others arriving in a big boat..
Ok, but just so you know, it's no where near the Gold Coast.

I went to Whitehaven Beach both from Hamilton Island and from Airlie Beach on two separate occasions. It is truly beautiful. Both times I went with the seaplane option because I didn't want to spend a whole day on the cruise visiting other islands and do snorkelling, all I wanted to see was Whitehaven Beach. It's more expensive than a day cruise and you only get around two hours on the beach to swim and they usually include a light snack and a bottle of sparkling in the package. For me, I think two hours is enough when you're travelling with young children. They get bored pretty quickly, at least this way we get to do something else in the afternoon. The scenery you see while on the seaplane is amazing too.
I can't help you much on the camper van part, but I do feel that it'll be a nice experience. Airlie beach is very busy day and night and filled with young tourists. When I went I didn't even see a lot of families but we like to visit places we haven't been, so it didn't bother us much.
