    • Activate on chosen plan within 30 days of purchase.

I don't think they have ever enforced that.

      • Is that in the T&Cs?
All it says is: Plans may no longer be available if you do not activate your SIM within 30 days.

        • It says in the linked page on desktop.

        • What does it say?

  • Offer is also available through the Optus eBay store. You might be able to combine it with other stuff in the cart if you make an order of $75 or more to get that 10% off with the current PAINT coupon.

seek help from YES Crowd, said wait for 5 business days to get a replacement sim. I asked if go to the store will resolve, Online support say "YES".
went to optus store, throw me two $2 replacement sim and kick me out the store saying 'can't help to transfer the $30 credit because your order was from online sales. You need to contact customer service by your phone.' (30mins wasted, personal privacy info got copied and print out more than a few copies left on table=personal info exposed to the air.
contact their call centre, they couldn't do it because the replacement sims take upto to 2-3 business days to activate. = can't recharge my $30 on spot.
took 15mins to generate case IDs…..

"YES! Optus" I learnt a lesson from you. STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!!!

Guys, stay away even you got free stuff from them…….

Recently I've noticed Optus's customer support has really taken a dive, though they haven't reached Vodafone's level in my experience that is.

I've had the best customer support experience with Woolworths and Amaysim, they where top notch, so polite and friendly :)

    • Getting the same sort of run around here. Online chat want me to go to the store and pay $2 for another SIM. I said why should I pay for another SIM when you sent an invalid one ? Then they said the SIM would be free.

Don't like where this is going !!!

  • I'm also having trouble activating my sim… Chat with optus online and they said o go to store to get replacement sim, but store says they can't do that… Tried multiple times explaining situation to optus online but keep getting transferred to different departments. Will never buy anything optus again.

hey guys, you need to go to Optus running optus store, don't go to franchise optus store to get ‘legit’ help. Franchise store would just kick you away. Also, I heard from a operator this is a massive faulty batch sent out. no one in optus can give 14GB out until sometime next week for this 'online' deal. What the phone operator can only offer is to give some data usage on a replacement $2 sim for free depends on your luck, around 1~ a few GB. then wait for five working days hopefully the credit would be added to the replacement sim. Next step is to seek help from ACCC to investigate. P.S. Optus got fined by ACCC in July due to data usage cut from existing customers silently and shorten the usage period. google news ACCC optus.

  • Did anyone manage to get their credit transferred over to a new sim? I've been told that it will be done but it's been more than 5 days now and still no credit yet.
