while we are crying and whinging and complaining, that ex CEO of AP is laughing all the way…

In February 2017, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull criticised Fahour's $5.6 million annual salary saying, "As the Prime Minister and a taxpayer, I've spoken to the chairman today. I think that salary, that remuneration, is too high."

Is Malcom Turnbull aware that the Australian Government owns Australia Post? (Just kidding, he's not stupid, he wants that CEO to be paid taxpayer money in his ongoing project to shift as much public money into private hands as possible, so he did nothing about it as the owner of the business).

Vote for the charlatan next election if you want this to continue.

heh. mr ahmed fahour was appointed as the ceo of ap under a alp government.

      • Getting to think that you might just be a political staffer in disguise.

    • Look these golden parachutes don't pay for themselves…

Wish I can charge Auspost $4 (not much cost of a coffee) each time they delver my mails to wrong address.

    • Or they just return it to sender! Why even bother attempting delivery.

  • Is this a joke? They want to increase the price again?
I haven't had mail delivered anywhere on my street for 7 days now!

    • Not joking about the joke price increase in October

nothing new here. ap increase their prices twice a year. one half of their product line in march/april and the other half october/november. appointing a new ceo isn't going to change that.

Delivery was faster 100 years ago.

Only just got used to the 15 cent increase on 500g parcel - now this?

    • Only just got used to the 15 cent increase on 500g parcel - now this?

A ~4.5% price increase seems fair to cover the 8% increase in wages For Ap workers over four years.

      • It seems so but I am sure there are lots of other cost cutting measures that are being taken. And well 8% of an ap annual wage is not going to be as much as ~4.5% of Aussie postal services usage. Money is going somewhere but I can't say it's the workers that benefits. So please take it easy on the posties and postmasters

    • There is no change for the regular flat rate satchels and the 5kg express flat rate satchels if I read correctly. The increase is in regular parcel post (own packaging). E.g. Own packaging up to 500g is $7.60, on 2nd Oct it will be $7.95.

  • "By making these changes, we're ensuring the long-term viability of your mail and parcels delivery network. A network where every day we reach more Australians than any other company, through our 11.5 million delivery points and over 4,000 post offices."

    Bullshit

      How so?

  • The last increase is just around 12 months ago and this increase is far more then CPI.

When there is cost cutting happening why they still have to increase this much

    • Someone wants more money

    • Would you rather have ap index the price increases and then get the taxpayers to cover the shortfall?

      • no matter how much increase they get, they will always goes red while in the government hand.

        • Ap is a cash cow. The only red thing about them is the logo.

      • That's not what I am saying mate, there are many cost cuts that you may not be aware of giving ap employees more work for pretty much the same pay. It's just how the world works where the rich get richer and the poor suffers
