wondering if any knows where to get one of these:
1) monitored home alarm that will call my mobile when triggered
and
2) video feed of home I can access via net

A lot of people dont like companies like this, as trust becomes an issue 1) with the installer 2) with the company
Most people who want a security system, already dont have a certain level of trust so this is why they go for DIY
Also some people are able to DIY quite well others not , bascially comes down to the person installing it and the kit thats chosen
Ive used those guys for years and they are pretty good and reasonably priced.
I think you can say that about any trades person it is always a risk but thats why you go with a licenced and insured company so at least you have some assurance.
FYI ive seen those DIY kits in DSE and they are a joke, maybe if you dont mind something that goes off when the wind blows or the crims can defeat in 2 secs flat.
i like the idea of something calling my mobile, but there seems to be limited information on the net.
The main issue with off the shelf alarms
- they can be disabled by turning off the power
- you rip the alarm off the wall (and/or drop it in a bucket of water)

All i would need for internet camera surveillance would be:
1 x camera
1 x motion senor
1 X computer that can be put into sleep mode till sensor actived or logged on remotly via net
1 x net connection
a DIY to keep me busy till Christmas :)
