No stick to the Xiaomi Xiaofang
Is the Xiaofang fine to have set up outdoors?
Depends if its under cover. But you could get a helluva waterproof box for $220
But this is Indoor use only
More amusing Working broadband internet connection with at least 2 Mbps upload speed (DSL may not qualify).
That rules out most adsl & optus cable.
@supabrudda:
Even if you had 2 Mbps upload capabilities surely your going to cripple your home network uploading 380gb per monthFor this kind of cameras, EZVIZ is far better. More Stable, and Clearer recording.
Tell him he's dreamin'
This isn't Oz-Advertising marketing (mod: personal attack removed). It's cheaper shipped from amazon ($210). Also they aren't great value for the price anyway.
Yup, both products are a lot cheaper on Amazon shipped.
This is local stock whereas the one from Amazon isn't.
Wow I'll take ten
Are the Nest smoke alarms legal in Australia in a hard wired installation?
If you buy them from iSelect they would be.
I want to replace 3 hard wired detectors in my house which are interconnected. I read somewhere that the Nest interconnect doesn't meet Aus code.
Nest uses wifi for interconnect. I have no idea as to whether or not the 3786:2014 code specifies allowable wireless methods for interconnect. Does the law in your state make interconnect mandatory?
The disclaimers on iSelect are:
Voice messages do not comply with AS 3786:2014, Section 4.21
When Interconnected, visual indicators do not comply with the requirement of AS 3786:2014.I believe the first part re section 4.21 is optional.
The interconnect is a little unclear, I think it was something to do with the flashing during an alarm, where only the initial unit is supposed to, not the connected ones, but with the nests they all do (sounds like something that could easily be fixed in software for Aus) However I don't think you can disable the interconnect.
It also depends on which state you're in and when your house was built. For example, in WA houses built before May 2015 are not required to have interconnected alarms.
Seems to suggest a further $50 off if you call and compare an insurance product - for $200 I'm happy to give it a crack
For $200 it would want to be some good crack!
This or the Netgear Arlo Pro setup?
Really worth this much?
