[Vic] Prices Useful for Pricematching: SanDisk Memory Cards, USB Flash Drives and Readers

65

mod - the OP is saying these prices do get honoured however the links can go away after a number of purchases, for whatever reason.

As such the OP is suggesting people use these prices for price matching so more people can get the bargains.

It seems the user is not providing direct links, to help slow down people who click without reading what the OP writes.

following on from my post at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32686

MemoryZone/ITDevice is an authorised Australian SanDisk reseller (not just retailer) so should have stock if checked when price matching - also it’s not only an online store but has a physical showroom if that makes a difference

replace ***** in this address/link with itdevice (or memoryzone)
http://www.*****.com.au/live/advanced_search_result.php?keyw…

PDF uploaded to ozbargain instead of URL in case products/pages disappear from their website again as per previous post above (perhaps because sale prices might be cheaper than wholesale)

if comparing, note Officeworks charges a $4.95 handling fee when ordering online to pickup in store

[mods - why did this originally look like it needed fixing and checking?]

    Wasn't this removed earlier?

      -> tonester

The whole thing looked unusual so it needed investigation to try and work out what is going on eg why you won't provide direct links etc

As far as I can tell you are saying - do NOT buy from these guys, but rather, use these prices to price match with Officeworks

That's why you haven't provided direct links as people will click on the links and buy from these guys.

You don't want people to buy from these guys because for some reason the links can go away after possibly a small number of purchases, for whatever reason.

However, while the links are there they are legitimately offered prices that will be honoured and people can use these to get price matches at Officeworks or wherever. Which may be of most use to people in Victoria, perhaps live, work or pass by Maidstone, who could ask for a price match on the walk in price.

So if people do price matches, more people can share better prices.

As such I'm going to amend your bargain description. If I misinterpreted what you weren't saying, please feel free to amend.

Note: If a deal makes people go through a number of hoops to try and work out if there is a bargain or not and/or what the person is saying, we tend to unpublish the deal.

I guess the card readers at the end could be a good price if people want them and get a price match.

      • That sounds right, though I still have no idea what's with the "page disappearing because OP linked to them on Ozbargain" line

        thanks foundit

i thought that referring/linking to my previous post "SanDisk 16GB Extreme SDHC Class10 30MB/s $98.20 (Melb pickup +$4) @ MemoryZone" would have been clear enough whereby within 5hrs of its posting almost all SanDisk items were removed from MemoryZone but none from its sister site IT Device

as you mentioned by providing a PDF rather than URL it allows more people to obtain their prices either through matching elsewhere or directly without the referrer source being identified

a physical showroom might matter if other retailers only price match those with bricks-and-mortar and not online-only stores

i have not found SanDisk products cheaper anywhere else and have been informed by a nationwide retailer that these sale prices are pretty much at-cost/wholesale

while their range is 29-76% off RRP, the average discount for the 58 items appears around 45-50%

        • I know you're referring to an average but I was finding 5% or less for a few of the disks.

The readers can provide a good discount, though.

I still don't understand why you couldn't provide this link???

    http://www.memoryzone.com.au/live/advanced_search_result.php…

The link above is memoryzone, and your PDF is for itdevice…. This post is a real riddle!

    • +2

Exactly, the other mod wrote: looks like bargain needs fixing and checking

Agreed, why put the ***s in the URL,why link to IT device. Maybe we are all missing something?

    • -1

compare sandisk search results of memoryzone with itdevice and read previous post mentioned

      • +2

So you are saying by not linking directly they will have no idea that this is being posted on Ozbargain. Surely, the huge increase in sales could possibly tip them off?

  • Why can't you provide a link instead of having five asterisks?

  • +1

    top secret

  • +1

this 'bargain' is for the lose

    • this listing is way too dodgey. makes no sense at all. stay away IMO.

  • 29-76%. Fail. 1 item may be 76% off & another 29%. Be a bit more specific with what's actually a bargain please.

    • because there is no bargain - $5+4 for pickup on a 4gb usb key? $10/11 @ msy… maybe even cheaper elsewhere.

  • +2

Just post separate links, instead of telling us to replace the asterisks with words, that just dumb. ie

    http://www.itdevice.com.au/live/advanced_search_result.php?k…

    http://www.memoryzone.com.au/live/advanced_search_result.php…

If the product disappears from the website, we can't buy it anymore, so whats the point of the pdf.

Name something specific as a bargain.

    • +1

Ok I'll reply on behalf of him.

Go to www.********.com.au, search for "****** *". Check out the price, $.** shipped! Amazing bargain!

      • +1

You forgot to mention the physical showroom - if that makes a difference. ;)

  • neg for reposting something which the mods had just removed and not taking the mods advice.

  • Its not very cheap compared to ebay. Especially the 32 gig micro sdhc class 2.

    • +2

      ebay = land of fakes…

      • ebay is only a land of fakes if you don't do your research, get too good a price, or just ignore feedback. I got duped once, ended up getting the product eventually and got a full refund via pay
        pal.

  • SanDisk 4GB Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive 4GB PRICE: $4.95 + $9.73 shipping = $14.70

SanDisk 8GB Cruzer Micro USB Flash Drive 8GB PRICE: $18.50 inc. free shipping

    hmmm… tough choice

  • i guess u could grab say, 10 of the 4gb usb sticks and pick up, the price for each sick would then be about 5 dollars. But, im not doing that.

  • not such good prices, and by the way it's posted, seems like some sort of reverse psychology trick i saw at tome and jerrys. neg

  • Nothing special here, the post seems so messed up, and the actual bargain if any is at Officeworks.

  • +1

A bargain is a cheap product offered by a store. A bargain is not the ability to price match at another store.

If itdevice has cheap memory cards, usb flash drives and readers then a post should be created and linked to itdevice.com.au so that people can actually buy cheap things from them

  • Could you make this deal any more confusing? If the deal is at officeworks, why not just post a pic of the pdf up and then just tell ppl to go to officeworks to pricematch. Telling us their showroom looks great means jack when you're also telling us not to use their site.

  • Thanks for the post, amazed the amount of people who cant work out whats going on.

From my understanding he found a good bargain, but from past experience he knew they would sell out fast/end the sale once it goes viral on ozbargain etc, so instead he posted a pdf to print out so you could use the super cheap prices and price match at other shops, that way the original sale goes on and more people benefit.

    • If you want those specific models and brands, yes some of the prices are very cheap.

However if other brands etc are okay, then you can get better prices for say a 16 GB USB drive .

  • In the confusion, that store has sprouted a rep!

    • Hi octagonalman,
Just to make it clear, we have no relationship with the original poster. We would like to thank the original poster for the links to our site although it seemed to confuse some readers. Frankly we didn't know what was going on with the links confusions, as all of our products has their unique links that can be directly linked to other sites like OZBargain directly.

Somehow we think it's good if we can promote our real deals directly to OZBargain readers.
