Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced source of freeze dried vegetables and fruit? Possibly even protein if that exists though the thought of freeze dried meat makes me gag.
The commercial options for camping meals are so grim (sweet, snotty in texture, include weird sheets of meat protein) that I am going to try to develop some camping meals that can simply be rehydrated with hot water.
I'm convinced that it can't be too hard to make something less grim, is lightweight and includes enough calories to get through a 6 day hike.
I've found one tassie supplier of freeze dried veg but they sell in quite small portions (20g packs - rehydrated to 300g).
