Is It Worth Framing Your Bachelors Degree? ($160)

Hey guys,

I'm due to graduate soon and I'm just looking up prices for framing my certificate from a company recommended by the University itself. Prices range from $150-170, seems like a bit much for a frame. Is it worth getting at all? Do employers require the original copy of the Bachelors Degree ?

Here's a link to the site.

I think it'd be nice, it's not a necessity I'm just eh about paying so much. Are there cheaper alternatives?

A Uni degree is a sunk cost, but everyone knows that

Framing a degree is a high yield investment

    • Not as high yielding as an 80k car. Specially if washed with voss water.

      • How else are you going to buy your smashed avo? Smashed avo doesn't grow on trees you know.

  • IMO Bachelors Degree are not worth a penny anymore.

  • Go to a framestore they will have a range and a very nice one shouldn't be more than 80 bucks. My local one had all the tools and guidance to do it yourself in a few minutes.

obviously not a doctor if you asked this question

  • IKEA has good looking cheap frames. Mine are in those.

  • Also - when are Universities going to offer a 'serial number typed' into a website style validation for degrees?

I'm seriously sick of the frauds I work with in IT.

    • Those in the know when it comes to IT industry certs and work experience counts more than uni degrees.

  • Yes it is! Get it plaqued rather than frame.
    Why?
Don't do it for employers, etc. So it for yourself.
You will appreciate what you have achieved later and it is a big deal. That plaque is a remind and worth hanging in your study room. Becomes like art work as well. See it like spending on a painting.

I didn't do mine and regretted. After few years working, I went through trouble finding business who would do it. It's easier if you just get it done now.

    Paper will get lost somewhere.

I still want to do mine for Bachelor.

Anyone know who can make plaques now?

  • came here for the comments. was not disappointed

  • I have been asked to provide mine.
Mostly large multi-national companies will do this.

Mine are framed and hanging in my study.
I think the frames were about $30 each.
    $150-170 is ridiculous.

  • I paid $1 for a frame from a garage sale.
