Lego S@H is currently running some Force Friday promotions

  • Triple VIP points on Star Wars Lego sets
  • Free Mini First Assault Heavy Walker polybag (30497) with $120+ in SW theme
  • Free 'collectible' poster (three varieties, one for each day) with SW theme purchase
  • Some minor discounts on certain SW sets

Shipping is free on $200+ orders.

Also, there's a concurrent promotion for free Kai Dojo Pod with any Ninjago purchase, so chuck in a cheap qualifying set for the freebie.

Triple VIP points is nice for uncommon sets like the UCS Snowspeeder (75144) giving 659 points which convert to $49 off your next purchase, i.e. '15% off' after the fact. Big W stocks the Snowspeeder, but don't know when it's next on sale.

Unfortunately, the just-announced 2017 UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) will fall outside the window, and $195 in points would have softened the blow of a $1300 set.

  • A few SW sets currently are 20-50% off RRP

  • 75192 Millennium Falcon available next month, just in time for Christmas.

Will the price riseto $5,000+ like 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon?

    • No mate, those days are over.

A MISB numbered first edition inevitably will. Non-numbered versions, doubt it.

        • It's not , so there's that answered.

        • @furiousgeorge: $1300 > $5000 is a fourfold increase, which given the popularity of this theme, the timing of the set, and limited first run, is a very modest projection. It's much lower than early modulars with ~9x return and weren't artificially constrained.

        • @Strand0410: Limited? 75192 is not limited.
If you want to buy to invest , go right ahead.

        • @furiousgeorge: There will be a numbered first edition, just like 10179, with slightly different box and certificate. Those are the ones reaching $5k, regular 10179s typically go for $1-2 depending on condition. He's asking whether these sets will hit $5k; for a limited run Falcon? Easily. Just a matter of time.

@Strand0410: ok , one more time.
There will be no numbered first edition for 75192.
There was for 10179, but not this time.

    • US$800 = AU$1000 + 30% Australia Tax = AU$1300
      US$800 = NZ$1115 + 35% NZ Tax = NZ$1500

Anybody else that was expecting $1000 to $1100 or was I the only one to forget about the Australia Tax?

      • What?

        US$800 = AU$1000 + 18% "Australia Tax" + 10% GST = AU$1300
        US$800 = NZ$1115 + 17% "NZ Tax" + 15% GST = NZ$1500

The US price doesn't include their sales tax. There's a major factory in Mexico, which makes distribution in the US a lot cheaper.
The original UCS model from 2007 was $1000 in Australia (US to AU exchange rate was similar to what it is now). After you factor in inflation, that's very close to the new model's RRP.
When you also consider the new model has a lot more pieces, is much more stable, and has a reasonable interior - it's far from a bad deal.

        • My 10179 Kmart docket still says $670.

      • It's a little higher than I'd like, but expected. Last time, the 10179 was U$499 > A$999; even factoring in a weaker AUD at the time, oof.
