I sent them a rather stern email telling them that they either cough up or face legal action.. I'm guessing they'll just ignore it.. A$%les!
Can you imaging how many of these they get because there is short stock?, you are better off not wasting your time unless it made you feel better and looking for the next bargain.
Lame that they didn't have live stock updating. They refunded me fast at least.
What crap! I too got this email, after placing an order when their website showed absolutely plenty in stock - and I checked back a few times the same day & noticed the stock counts going down. First time I've tried purchasing something through this mob - and it will now be the last!

Placed an order for two on Sunday morning and arrived at the Hawthorn Business Centre at 8:00am today to see if I could collect them. (Ordered for pickup from the Business Centre).
Guy just went pale and said "Sorry, all gone". He then went out of his way to check if any stock existed elsewhere, and found stock in Fyshwick.
He arranged for two units to be sent to my home address - and discounted the cost so no additinal cost for shipping. Now that was customer service! Thank you to the salesperson at HT Hawthorn!
They sent me an invoice this morning so the player would be sent shortly! If anyone missing this bargain, u can try Astone lol :)

Two that I ordered on Sunday arrived today to my Melbourne address.

I initially called up at about 12pm to reserve one, but when i rocked up it was sold out.
Then he said he could source some from other stores and get it shipped which i accepted. This was at about 4pm. So I'm not sure if he amended the original order or created a new one.

Do not manually update to later than 1.46 firmware. The 1.55 and later is "Defective by Design", and cannot be uninstalled.
Also, mine seems to be faulty. Almost every .mp4 or .mkv file has a corrupted picture. AVIs and MPEG2 are fine.

I upgraded mine to 1.55 and no issue so far.
Ok, you've never heard of the "Defective by Design" campaign.
Your media player is now owned by Seagate. Before installing 1.55, it was yours do do with as you wish.
You could add 3rd party extras like a fileserver or bittorrent client.
Now it has a crypto-lock, and you may not have the key. Its like the iPhone, which only runs software approved by Apple. If Steve says "no VoIP over 3G for you", then thats how it is. Unless you jailbreak it.
Anybody got a jailbreak for this device?
BTW, the fans call it a "FAT+" for short.
I upgraded it becuz 1.26 has issues with youtube and win 7 network logon :). Besides, I am not thinking to download 3rd party extras :).

is there any difference between 1.55 and 2.20?
I would say yes, mainly because the 1.55 is not for the right region ie as for apac there is only one choice 2.20 the USA one is 1.55 i think.
mine goes really well compared to original firmware, i cant say other than that as i went from original to the latest without even going to 1.55
Anyone know how the FAT+ sorts files and directories on USB drives? It seems to be in some sort of random order…
It doesnt actually sort , it just identifies where they are , you sort the hard drive when plugged in to your pc ie recent etc
