Gas Providers That Don't Charge Service Fee? [VIC]

I have 2 gas meters. One for the front part of the house, one for the granny flat. I am living in the granny flat and no need to gas in the front part of the house for now. So I had my meter turned off. My service provider however are still charging me $20 each month for "service to property charge".

Are there any gas providers that anyone is aware of that wouldn't charge this on an unused meter ?

This never happened years ago when it was dormant so don't know when this law came in seems pretty unfair.

I am in Victoria.

The current provider is Lumo.

  I looked a few years ago and they all charge a daily service fee. It would be easier to tell them to disconnect it. There is a chance they may not even shut it off so you could start using it again straight away if you want it "reconnected".

  the only way you can avoid paying, is to have the meter removed

    Yes I gathered, how is this law ? It wasn't the case a few years ago…
