Is It Possible to Buy Old Bluetooth Mono/Mobile Headsets?

I have a Bluetooth transmitter like this: (there's a few listings of the same thing around as usual)

I have found it pairs with only v2.x bluetooth devices - I have tried/bought v3 and v4 headsets just don't connect. I had an old headset lying around and so did a friend who gave it to me, but both were too old that the internal Li batteries were dead.

Anyone know if old ones - with batteries in decent nick - still exist? Unfortunately despite the backwards compatibility of everything, obviously the cheapie transmitter isn't that good. I have got one that works, also being so old the battery only lasts about 1hr which is not enough for my usage.
To clarify I'm after those small in-ear ones that typically have a mic boom (not necessary for me).

    I had a look for alternatives but couldn't find any of a similar "cheapie" price. I am surprised no one has updated that generic model to a newer chip since then given all the cheapie headsets have been

        Buying older BT headphones could be more expensive than these and limiting for the future.
