Ozito 1200W 185mm Corded Circular Saw $39 (Normally $59) @ Bunnings

270

I've been on the lookout for a cheap new circular saw since I cut through the power cable on my old one.

This might not be the best saw on the market but at 34% discount it is a good deal.

Credit to pricehipster.com for this, I haven't actually confirmed pricing or availability in store.

  • 185mm is a bit small / shallow cut though.

    • Yeah 65mm isn't too deep but it's good enough for me.

Also it's $169 for the 235mm ozito saw which is a big jump in price.

      • I guess. Would be a good backup unit for any hardwood lumbers my 18V refuses to chew through.

        • Same here, on the lookout for a bargain 235mm / 2000W for hardwood.

        • @ruprectaus:
Yeah, my 18V is also 235mm. Would be nice to have a cabled saw sharing same set of blades.

      • 65mm isn't too deep but it's good enough for me.

        That's what she said.

Had one of these for about 5 years ….. I've absolutely punished it during that time, and it's never missed a beat. Amazing for the price.

    • I'm definitely stopping at bunnings on the way home tonight!

    • Same here, can second that. Solid unit

    • I’ve had mine for about that long too. For the small jobs I do around the home it’s perfect.

I can confirm the price, saw it in store on Sunday, was going to get it, didn't see any on the shelves, and didn't want it that badly to ask.

    • Great thanks, which store did you see it at?

      • North Parramatta, but OOS

  • would this cut through 16mm melamine ok?

    • I think it would but you'd have to buy a different blade for it. Online says a tungsten tip blade.

    • 1 left oakleigh south

  • Out of stock at Caringbah and North Parramatta. Everywhere else in Sydney looks like it has stock.

    • About 7 left at Seven Hills after I got one.

  • Join the wires back together on your old one that you cut through?

I did that and it came apart again, sparks came out both times, I didn't want to risk it a third time.

Fair enough. Should change your username to onetwo haha

      • Better to fit a new plug than join the wires

      • Don't risk it……
electric shock +fast cutting tool = multiple injury possibilities

  • You cut through the power cable on your old one and still looking for a corded one?

    • I learned my lesson… I hope.

      • Have you thought about buying a 2-3m extension cord, cut the female end off and hardwire it into the machine?

        • It can be quite complex opening up a hand tool, refitting some flex and then putting it back together. Probably safer for onetwothree to splash out the $34, considering sparks came out the first time.

        • I chucked it months ago so its too late now.

I bought one of these yesterday as my old Makita died. The wife grabbed it and wrapped it up so the kids can give it to me for Fathers Day. So now I am picking up my own Father's day present? lol - beats getting socks and jocks!!

  • I got the last one on the shelf at tuggerah

  • Plenty left at Coburg, but at the end of an aisle, not in the tool shop
