Just a heads up for anybody trying to redeem points for rewards and finding that when you put something in the cart it sends you to the login page, and after success redirects to the shop, but then you still have nothing in the cart. The reason is you have to allow cookies from www.rewards.etihadguest.com by clicking on the cookie symbol on the location bar. Chrome and Firefox by default block cookies from this site, probably because it's a different site from the login page www.etihadguest.com.
Redeeming Etihad Points from rewards.etihadguest.com Requires Allowing Cookies

The problem is that it goes into a loop asking you to login again. Nothing sticks in the cart. If it were that simple to work around, I wouldn't have thought it postworthy.
whats the issue with cookies?
tin foil hat, you need to remove itIt's probably a website programming error. The authentication site set a cookie for www.etihadguest.com. However the redemption site is www.rewards.etihadguest.com, and when the website asks for the cookie to prove that you have logged in, nothing matching can be found so it reckons you haven't logged in so round the loop you go again. It probably worked before when it was just etihadguest.com and rewards.etihadguest.com as the first is a substring of the second.
Cookies aren't necessary evil. Without them you would not be able to maintain a logged in session on a single site. It's when say FB attempts to obtain a cross-site cookie so that they know if you have visited an affiliate site that privacy is at stake and Chrome and Firefox rightly block this sort of thing.
Another situation is that you may not want the session to persist after you have finished. Say you looked up some prices on Jetstar. Next time you come back it sees that you have been there before and from your browsing history decides to change the prices offered. However even if you clear the cookies after each session that's no good if you login because it may have associated your browsing history with you. So don't login until you are ready to buy.
Most people, when they see that the cart is empty after logging in will probably just go and add whatever back in…
