TrackMySubs.com $15 USD (~$20 AUD) Lifetime Plan @ App Sumo. RRP $96/Yr. Track All Your Subscriptions from One Place

20

Low down: Tracks all your subscriptions and notifies you about upcoming bills. Also has detailed spending reports.

Found this deal whilst I browsing AppSumo. Thought to myself why I would even bother using this service but $15 for a lifetime plan and created by an Aussie company?? why not. Their yearly price is $96/year so this is quite cheap… Anyway, I registered and found it actually works really well. I enter all my subscriptions (e.g. Netflix, Foxtel, Hulu, ISP, Hosting renewals, ATO, telephone, etc), specify all the prices I pay for them and it alerts me about upcoming bills, which may help with bill shocks. They also have a nice reporting section which show exactly how much I spend each week/month/year on each service. I can group service by custom made categories, so for example I have Personal, Business, Entertainment. Doing this lets me see a rough idea of my spending patterns in each category. Pretty nifty. Might be useful for some people who want reminders or to track their subscription spending habits. AppSumo deals usually are limited so I don't think this deal will be around for long.

A sub to track your subs. How hard is it to just keep an eye on what recurring payments are coming out of your account? It worries me how badly some people lack the ability to manage their finances.

    • And how easy it is for companies to take advantage of those that can't manage their finances.

      • I was reading through r/personalfinance once and noticed a comment from some guy where he had at least $30/month in random subs that he didn't use coming out of his account that he didn't cancel because he "couldn't be bothered". It's ridiculous.

I find their expense reporting useful. I use it because I share Netflix. When my NetFlix sub renews, it also alerts my buddy to pay his 50%. Plus also use it to notify me when my CC# expires on a service (got a few CCs)

Recurring reminders in MS Outlook. Job done.

      or even better- Google calendar

      • …and if you want detailed metrics per day/week/whatever then dump it into an Excel spreadsheet. Or if you don't want to pay for MS Excel, then use Google Sheets.

So 15 bucks for another calendar? If you want a good illustration of the anchoring effect manipulating a users sense of value this is it: user sees a number 96 that does not even make logical sense and now the 15 bucks "lifetime" for an extra calendar seems very cheap - even though no one in their right mind is paying 96 annually.
