Unleaded E10 $1.059/L @ United Petroleum Croydon North VIC

140

I was here last night and I noticed fuel was much cheaper than anywhere else. I assume it's because this gas station has recently opened up so might be part of a promotion.

United Petroleum Croydon North
410 Maroondah Hwy, Croydon VIC 3136

This is a very cheap price for fuel at the moment as most other gas stations are selling unleaded at about $1.35.

  • That must mean its about to drop everywhere, thats good.

    • Um, mind explain?

      • +1

no one station will be a mile cheaper, if one drops its likely they all will.

Its $1.30 odd up here, so hope it drops soon.

    • +1

Unfortunately not, because it's a new station that just opened up, so it is a promotion

    • I reckon its going to slowly drop up until schools hols in 4wk, then jump up just before the end.

      Lucky I've got a amex $10 back on $40 @ coles express & 10c + 4c off vouchers.

Who buys petrol at this price?

40L E10 will cost me $4000+.Correct me if I am wrong.

    Edit:Title corrected by MOD.

Bought e10 early this morning @0.98 cents from a "Metro" petrol station on the main road there at Penshurst NSW

    • +1

You bought E10 for less than 1(1>0.98) cent per litre compared to OP pays 105.9 dollars per litre. You're genius!

      • Best $5 bucks I've spent in a long while!

  • +1

    should be 105.9 cents??

  • Using e10 isn't worth. E10 contains less energy and uses more fuel than ulp, pulp and upulp.

    • It's a VERY marginal difference though. And it has environmental benefits. PULP and UPULP will make no difference over ULP.

It's a VERY marginal difference though.

that 2% to 3% is enough for some motorists.

        • You forget to include the price of the fuel in your decision.

If you use 3% more fuel, but you save 10% of the cost, then you'd be ahead by choosing E10.

        And it has environmental benefits.

        plant a tree.

PULP and UPULP will make no difference over ULP.

stick with ulp of one likes knocking.

Mate, you're way behind the times. Pretty much any non-carburetor car is designed to run ethanol.

          @jrowls:
e10 is a renewable alternative to ulp, pulp and upulp. it's not a replacement. it contain less energy which mean more refuels and increased overall cost.

keep using e10 if that's your thing. we prefer to use a less diluted fuel like pulp and upulp.

the last commodore I had (4 years ago) had a label that it can use 85% ethanol fuel, so E10 is nothing for modern engines - just has the problem of worse fuel economy.

      • +1

not according to the motoring associations, you have something like 3-4% worse fuel economy so needs to be 4 cent a litre cheaper to be even.

        • +1

That's true, E10 can be up to 20 cents per a litre cheaper where I live. My car seems to also get better fuel economy with E10. I typically see around 5.2 litres per 100km on E10.

        • @Ronnnie: What's your car? That's exactly what we get on my partner's Jazz.

  • Missus talked to someone there about this the other day and they reckon it's gonna change tomorrow anyways, just an opening special.

Mind you, she once told me that VCE and VCAL start in year 9 so she can be hit and miss.
