To all Samsung TV owners, kindly disconnect your TV/SmartTV from the internet while Samsung (attempts to) fix a broken firmware update released in the last 48 hours (25 August 2017).

Hope this helps.

NOTE: The first users who reported the issues were the Europeans and then followed by the Americans. So it is yet "unknown" if this broken update will affect any Australian users but I think it's best to throw caution in the air.

    I wonder what Samsung's QC protocols around testing smart TV firmware are, prior to pushing it out.
    Every time we get an update, some thing stops working.
    The catch being several of the apps we use will not launch until you update to the latest firmware.

    My next Smart TV will be a dumb TV patched into a PC

      They have none. Every audit of their code, whether for their phones/TVs/whatever, generally finds that they must have hired interns to write the lot of it.
