    • Should I swap the links around for transparency?

      • I think you should also post your personal details.

  • Mmmmmmm Pie

    • Where does raspberry pi taste like blood?

      • You have lead poisoning.

  • This probably applies to the Raspberry pi 2 and possibly even 1 as well

Free Kindle ebooks… not always models of exposition!

"Raspberry Pi Model B can be associated to ‘A’ model. It can be taken as a choice whereas the model wasn’t because it was same for everyone. When model A was released in market, it was relatively cheap because of few interfaces and less RAM. However, the model has now replaced it completely that it is not used anymore."

    • Later on

      It's 26 pins …

      after its' release …

      Oh dear.

Upvote for the deal itself, but thumbs down for the book. It's never been proofread by anyone with even mediocre English skills. If "Stephen Aldrich" is a real person and not a pseudonym for "Google Translate", then he needs to get a pass mark in high school level English before publishing a book, or indeed publishing anything.

WOFT = WOFTAM - AM (since there was no money involved)

    • I suspect too that many of the chapters were cribbed from public documents.

This ebook is terrible. Really, even with Amazon's one-click-buy you're still wasting your time "buying" it. There's nothing technical in the book at all, I didn't even see one line of code. It starts telling you how great the Pi is, and some of the new features compared to older versions. Then tells you to install the NOOB OS, then has a high level concept of a game. That's pretty much it. There are no instructions to follow, no technical data, nothing to teach you anything. If digital storage had an environmental footprint this ebook would be a crime - it's just a waste of space, and and there isn't much text at all.

If you have a Pi and want to get started, there are so many good websites that are actually useful. Use Google, you'll find them.

      • Agree. Terrible book.

  • Besides grammatical errors and no codes, everything else is good.

If you want to jump start your Raspberry Pi 3 knowledge, read the following book

  • Comes up with a price for me now?

    • It's still free on the American amazon store if you don't mind that.

  • No longer available in AU store https://goo.gl/JYzyTg and no longer free in US store https://goo.gl/drqNG1

    • Thank God.
We won't be annoyed by bad grammars any more.

  • This one is still available for free ( as for now): https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B06X94RNPS

  • Anyone who got it, care to share the pdf?

    • Don't bother, it's trash. It contains a lot of conflicting/bad/junk info

As a complete rpi n00b, this is what I got from the book:
Get an rpi3. Get a 5.1V 2.5A power supply. Get an SD card. Put NOOBS on it. Use Raspbian for the OS. You can use it as a desktop pc and/or access it remotely. The ebook also has a poor tutorial on how to write a Tic Tac Toe game in Python which doesn't really have anything to do with rpi
