    I'm not sure PayPal is my friend. I approved a payment of $US88c in PayPal but was charged $US3.99, presumably because the code expired while I was checking out.

        Maybe not. It was on the page in the PayPal site itself where I chose the payment method. Then it went back to the site to confirm address/delivery. I wasn't aware that a site could deduct an amount different to the amount I had approved in PayPal.

        It's OK. Not too fussed over a few dollars. I was just surprised that the amount could change after I had already approved it in PayPal. That's not particularly user-friendly. I would prefer to have to re-approve the amount in PayPal if it changes during checkout.
