  • Hey,
Can I use the music cast app to select between zone a and b on this reciever? I'd like to use it to drive 2x of in ceiling speakers but will need to be able to turn each set on and off Independently (same source for both is fine thought)

  • Not bad for a 4K passthrough Yamaha amp.

  • Damn, I fell for your previous deal. Oh well.

Both deals are great so you couldn't really lose out!

      • Have any deals on speakers for home theatres? I'm in the market for some.

  • +1

Just got the RXV583 last week and one hell of an amp for the money with a taste of atmos and DTSX.
I'm running rear heights and still good sound for 5.2.2 instead of recommend ceiling speakers.

-> So yep think of 7 channel amp for not much more:-)

    • Yeah, I'm holding out for a deal on the RX-V583. Wanting a 5.1.2 setup

      • +2

Agree. DTS-X, Dolby Atmos and 4k HDR incl. Dolby Vision.

Can we get a good deal on a Yamaha RX-V583 or Denon AV-RX1400 / AV-RX1300 OP?

        • This awesome deal from last week looks to still be active. Marantz SR5011 delivered from Amazon.de for $755. It has all those features you mention and it's about half price compared to what you pay over here. I ordered one last week.

@pauliau: I saw that. Great little unit. I was more impressed by this Amazon Germany post:

Denon AV-RX1300 for 344 Euro (select Amazon and it delivers to Australia): https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01GQ85GW6/ref=ox_sc_act_ti…

That comes to roughly $650AUD once you add in delivery cost and exchange rate. But I could definitely be convinced why Marantz vs Denon vs Yamaha if someone was willing to talk shop and share their thoughts :)

        • @elcheapodeniro: Whoah! Nice score.

          @tommypickles: Same same really - the 145w per channel is BS, and both do ~ 80w 8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive

Obvioulsy Denon would be considered slightly ahead of Yamaha as made by Marantz. But $50 more for denon and no local warranty, just to get more HDMI inputs.

Audioholics website & youtube channel have some great tips for setup and calibration - I think this is more key than a few specs here and there. For example YPAO on the Yamaha had my floorstander + centre speakers as Large and crossover at 60hz. But 80hz and small is best for bass management. Also this Yamaha has enough juice for my 4 floorstanders (mains and rears) at nice loud clear volume - John Wick with Atmos soundtrack = WOW!

  • OP, how long do you normally take to dispatch/deliver? I ordered on Monday and haven't received any further updates other than initial order confirmation

    • Did you get a confirmation? all of them went out!

      Let me know,
