I received an email over the weekend from woollies and they offer $10 discount when you spent $30 in store so I activated straight away…
Happily I went in today to do my shopping and when I scan my rewards card it didnt deduct it. I wonder if you guys will go to this trouble to ask the cashier to honor the deal?

Best to ring Everyday Rewards team directly and explain your situation. They should give you an answer. https://www.woolworthsrewards.com.au/contact.html. Phone number is on this page.
They usually give you points to cover the discount you didn't receive and maybe a few bonus points as well.
Terms and Conditions
Promotion runs from 21/08/17 to 27/08/17 at participating Woolworths supermarkets and Woolworths Metro (in all cases excluding Tasmania). This offer is personal to you. Activate this offer at least 2 hours prior to shopping to ensure the offer has been loaded to your card. Any transactions you have made before activating your offer, will not be counted towards the qualifying amount.
*Qualifying amount must be spent in one transaction. Qualifying amount excludes withdrawals of cash, delivery charges, internet cafes, purchases of smoking/tobacco products and accessories, liquor, gift cards (including iTunes), mobile recharge, Woolworths Mobile, woolworthsflowers.com.au, travel cards and tickets and Carpet Care. Offer not available online.I have had instances of bonus points not being applied to my account (has happened twice now). I have emailed the Rewards team both times to resolve and they get back to you within a week. I include the receipt number as well so they can confirm the transaction. First time the rep gave me an extra 200 bonus points but the second time, they didn't.
The first time I did raise with the service desk after shopping but they just referred me to the Rewards department saying there was nothing they could do.
Happend to me , but then I realised I used the wrong card 😀 (wifey has one)

Yes I will.
Quite a few of those advertised bonus points (e.g 3x/5x points) - although activated, were not given. I am sure if I contact Everyday Rewards and furnish them with evidence, they will, but it is just too much work. Maybe this happens a lot.
If it's a typical Woolworths Reward deal the fine print usually says it takes up to 3 business days to get the reward on your account. In my experience it typically takes one to two business days (if it's going to work). It never comes up on the docket at the actual qualifying shop.
They also do make plenty of mistakes though. I've had to follow up twice now (or maybe three times) with promotions where I definitely met all the requirements (date wise, spend wise, type of products bought wise) and have had no problems getting them to verify I should have received the points and then credited me with them.
That said, their system is clearly fragile and prone to mistakes. Best recommendation is to keep your receipts so you have the proof (even though they should have the details already assuming you scanned your rewards card at purchase). It will cause you less stress!
Thanks everyone. I nv think about contacting support. I still hv the receipt but we will see about it….
Just a head up if you contact ER to get $10 credit back will worth different discount. $30 paid $20 is 33% off. assume you paid $30 no discount then call up get $10 discount is technically $40 paid $30 is 25% + time n effort to deal with ER
Did you wait two hours after activation before using the offer? They say in the email that it takes up to two hours after activating the offer to load up on you awards profile.
I'm a cashier and there is absolutely nothing I could do for you in this situation other than void the rewards, ask you to scan again, then subtotal the transaction in hopes that it comes up.
Likewise, my supervisor/manager has little more privilege in regards to Rewards.
We always direct you to Woolworths Rewards support.
Did you bring this to the attention of the cashier? What did they say?
