  • It's a great deal … however there is some confusion in the conditions.

The advertisment indicates that the deal is for 3 months but the conditions say 6 months.

Does the longer period legally over-ride the shorter period?

Does Quickflif have to honor the 6 months?

    • I think it means you have to start your subscription within 6 months.

  • Thanks Look43Bs, but, I'm going to state my obligatory opposition to QuickFlix for stealing my money:

    • They didn't cancel my trial account when I requested it.
    • After agreeing to cancel the account and refund the month's subscription, they then charged a $10 refund fee
    • Then they charged me the following month anyway!

(Maybe this seems like a good deal, maybe it doesn't; doesn't really matter if they don't honour it.)

Lengthy waiting times and the poor availability of popular movie titles detracts from this deal. Whatever advantages left of this business model is then decimated by the growth of internet movie streaming and p2p filesharing. I'll be surprised if they last another 2 years.

hmm, you do release business models can change. last I read they have over 65,000 subscribers, that's a decent revenue stream to work with.

I'm liking 'Oovie' at the moment, great price and no waiting.

been with them for two years, def recommend them. Would like to see them start offering downloads though..

  • Quickflix are a terrible company. All they care about is profits. They do not take the "customer is always right approach at all".

I would never recommend anyone to join them. Infact I would fully recommend people to never join them.

They charged me $30 for a DVD that was lost in the mail. Nothing to do with me. And I have to foot the bill. Tried talking to customer service, even the manager. They said terms and conditions state if you dont call us about this, then we charge you. I ticked the box saying the dvd was returned. A week later it was still in my queue so I ticked the box to say that the DVD had a problem because they still had not taken it off my queue. Then i went on holiday for a few weeks, came back and bang $30 charge on my CC. Why? because i did not call them.
Oh really? So I return the DVD, flag it as being returned. You dont get it, so instead of calling me up, you just charge me $30. Very nice, very nice. Great customer service.

They are leeches, stealing peoples money with their unfair terms and conditions.

Be sure to read the T&C's before you sign up. Because you are basically giving them every possible right to charge your CC for extra fees.

Id prefer to go to the video store than deal with this lousy customer service and trickery to charge my CC without me knowing.

They dont even call you to confirm when you are rolling over to a new plan or when they are about to charge you. Why? Because they want your money. They dont care about you.

Anyway thats enough of a rant. Just lesson learnt - be careful some companies really dont care about their customers - QuickFlix is one of them.

I have been an ozbargain user and member of many years and love to share good news and bargains. but i had to share this with all of you too. Because i think it should be seen - so that others do not fall into the same traps that I did.
