  I bought an SX Vintage Strat clone from SCMusic for a very good price (just over $150) last year. Unfortunately the quality control was shoddy. I had to shim the nut which had been cut too deep, and the frets are no where near level. And the coating on the bridge had been worn through by the saddles. Since it would have cost me an arm and a leg to ship back and I really like the colour (Lake Pacific Blue, a clone of Fender's Lake Placid Blue) I kept the guitar but it was a real disappointment. I have another SX guitar I bought second hand that is near perfect. When I contacted SC all I got was "Sorry about that. We'll pass it on to the manufacturer". Yeah I'm not too keen to buy from them again.

  This is the guitar, but from a different seller. It's a shame because SX has a reputation for punching above their price point…obviously QC is inconsistent though.

      Thanks for getting back to me so quickly and offering to send a nut. I will publicly acknowledge that you at least communicate quickly. Unfortunately with shipping costs being what they are I'm in the same basic position I was before - perhaps a little better off if I can get up the nerve to swap over the nut. Fret dressing would almost cost more than the price of the guitar.

    Just a follow up .
    My order still hasn't arrived . I lodged an inquiry through ebay as it was a week past the last delivery date specified and received a response a day later .
    I received a tracking number that shows the parcel was not even despatched until 10 days after I ordered it despite being told it was sent the next day .
    FYI it was sent Parcel Post which IMHO could of been upped to express IMHO after over a weeks delay .
