anyone know how long that 4gx wifi data lasts for?

Telstra Prepaid 4GX USB + WiFi Plus (incl 3GB data to use in 30 days)

Amazing what happens when you read it.

I have to agree though that is an awesome price for a Telstra 4GX usb modem and 3gb!

      • -3

how long u got to activate it?

        • +1

Well that depends on when the sim expires? Have a look in store and see.

        • Grabbed one tonight from my local Coles and SIM expires April 2019.

        • According to the Telstra chat rep I just spoke to, you have to activate the SIM by the expiry date, and you get six months to use up the 3GB. Perfect for me, I'm going on a trip out back over Easter, and will probably have bugger-all coverage with my usual Vodafone SIM. $14 for 3GB to use over a weekend, including dongle? Win!

      • USB and wifi!

Be sure to get some chai tea and basil pesto with your garlic aioli after you take some cash out of the ATM machine ;)

    • Is the 1/2 price mayo in the catalogue/at other stores? Real keen on the peri mayo.

      • Not 1/2 price at local :( lame.

Aww yes spam on special again

Time to stock up on spam for the impending World War.

  • Time to replace my non-WiFi 4G dongles.

  • +2

Serious question…..do people buy Spam. What's it like?

    • I was about to post the same question. I hope it doesn't offend anyone, I'm interested to know who buys this and what they use it for.

    • +2

Spams like mushy minced meat and is pretty salty. Tastes nice if you slice it up and pan fry it or its also nice in fried rice cause it adds a salty and meaty flavour.

    • It is nice, if pan-fried, and sandwiched between bread.

      • What isn't though?

      • Spam burger spam burger!

        Oh man 90s nostalgia…

    • I still have it occasionally… its like chicken feet for westerners… nostalgic rubbish food

    • Staple in Hawaii. Spam sushi 🍣

    • +1

Yes definitely.. it's the tastiest simplest food to cook and eat also one of the cheapest. Win win win. Just slice it in thin chunks and either put it in the oven or pan fry. Serve with rice and that's a golden meal, add eggs and sausages if you are feeling fancy add kewpie sauce if you are feeling obese.

  • I also have a question about spam. Been wondering about this for a long time.
Is spam ready to be eaten straight from the tin? Let's say on a road trip, and one just wants a quick spam sandwich. Granted, it won't be as nice compared to pan-frying, but is it OK to eat? Thanks.

    • +2

      Yes.

      • +1

        Good, very handy then :-)

    • +1

Mates mum gave some with a fish sauce concoction and cucumbers… awesome

I can see the potential as a sandwich

    • +1

Yes I tried it several times when I was desperate. Definitely better pan fried though

  • +2

4GX locked to Telstra? How to unlock or how much to unlock? Any ideas?

    • PrePaid at that price it's definitely locked.

    • $5 spent on eBay can usually get the unlock code

    35 grams = "Giant" Freddo……this makes me sad :-(

    • +1

Its misleading 32 gram freddo is not giant!

    • 15g is the normal size.

  • Merged from Cadbury Favourite 1/2 Price at Coles. $9.50 a Box + Redeem a Free Movie Ticket

Coles have Cadbury favourites 1/2 price this week. And every box you buy you can redeem a free movie ticket. The price is $9.50 a box.

    Original movie ticket post

    • Please put the price in the title

    • +2

Picked up 4 yesterday. Reading is the cheapest (decent) cinema and they're 10 bucks a pop, why would I not wanna throw in a free half kilo of Cadbury?

Cracked open the box, ate more than we probably needed to, and sent off the email. My ticket was sent back in probably half an hour or so, and that was like 7pm too.

      • Sounds good. Do movie tickets received have expiry date?

        • Yeah, but it's hard to figure out.

I haven't looked too much into it, but when I went to redeem it said something about 3 months validity, so I was gonna hold off on the other ones (I know I'll be seeing Star Wars a few times so may as well save some bucks) but then when they emailed it, they sent me like a flyer looking thing that it looks like I can take into the cinema, but also says it can be redeemed online, anyway, THAT thing said it was good 'til February, so 6 months of time.

So if I had to answer, I would say at least 3 months, maybe 6, and I'll be looking into later when I head home.

        • My Palace cinemas tickets say they are good until June 2018.

      • I would also like to know what the expiry is on the tickets.

My local Event Cinemas is part of the promotion and me and hubby are keen to see Thor Ragnarok when it comes out.

        • +1

Someone posted in the original post that his ticket expires in Jan 2018.

        • Do you know if it says Katoomba United Cinemas is part of the deal?

    • +3

Pretty popular deal has been referenced in past ozb post

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/320471

probably helpful to include in deal description OP
