Anyone have some recommendations on these? I have never tried them before.

  • Why do you want caffeine tablets? What are you looking to get out of taking these? Don't like drinking coffee?

Thought that you may have been banned from McDonalds or something.

          ≠parking.

      • stomach pains from coffee are usually from the caffeine component.
unless you are lactose intolerant :P

I am a coffee addict, and my associated stomach pains have been completely alleviated by switching to almond milk — which I highly recommend.

After writing that sentence, I feel like I need to grow a man bun.

        • Milk still the best for making coffee though. Coffee and tea just tastes weird with crushed nut juice.

I buy Lactose free milk from Aldi for $1.69 all the time, no need to start growing a man bun and wear ripped skinny jeans.

        • Drink black.

      • Might be worth asking your dr about melatonin, modafinil

  • Think they used to sell "No-Doz" at gas stations and convenience stores - those are the only tablets I know of

  • Got some off eBay and they are a good substitute to drinking coffee. I think one tablet is 200mg of caffeine whiche ngs up being 2 cups of cofee

  • Pharmacys and Chemists usually sell the 100 x 100mg tablets of No-Doz in a bottle.

Be careful, you can get addicted very fast!

  • No-Doz got me through some tough uni exams but addiction and withdrawal symptoms might make you regret taking them afterwards. I actually got headaches and this made my unable to concentrate during the exams.

  • Yeah NoDoz are great. Sell them at every coles and woolies. Defiantly helps when you start 1am. Just dont have too many, Horrid feeling haha

  • Coffees have an unknown amount of caffeine in them due to natural variability in the initial product; such is the case with a purely natural ingredient. Energy drinks and caffeine tablets provide regimented dosages, with the latter being far more cost efficient (and often easier on the stomach, as chugging a 500ml can of carbonated nuclear horse urine isn't all that smooth).

Having said that, you can build a tolerance to caffeine rather quickly, especially if you abuse it like you may well do (and by abuse, I mean using it almost every shift, rather than in dire situations). If you find yourself greatly struggling, I would recommend potentially talking to your doctor about alternatives. Modafinil (and the variant Armodafinil) are compounds prescribed for narcolepsy, or sleep disorders arising from shift work. These compounds are stronger (a sustained energy rather than a 'buzz' followed by a sharp crash like caffeine) and your body does not build up a tolerance in the same manner and speed as caffeine. As far as cost goes, caffeine is cheaper, especially if purchasing your prescribed medication locally, but you can legally purchase a supply from overseas when you hold a prescription which should help close the gap on the cost side of things.

Needless to say, I cannot legally recommend you take any form of medication; only that you perhaps raise this point with your medical professional.

Taking speed is not necessarily better than caffeine tablets

Coffee lengthens telomeres, caffeine isolated shortens telomeres. Stick with the coffee.

    Helpful???
Also available at seemingly any Chinese supermarket for $2-3

    • dont think they actually contain much caffeine.

  • No-doz awakeners (100 tablets / bottle) 100mg caffeine / tablet.

It will mess up your already disturbed sleeping patterns, do your family a favor and try to get as much sleep as you can between the shifts, trust me, I have been there and after a while these tablets stopped to work for me. I start taking them with V drinks and cold coffees, yes, thats how bad it got for me. In the end, I ruined my health and gained a lot of weight due to less sleep. My thyroids (T3 and T4) hormone stopped working and dont even ask me what things they found after my blood test at clinic. I still do shift work sometimes but sleep in between as much as I can.

  • coles sells No-Doz

usually below the berocca in the Vitamin section

  • If my memories are correct, the caffeine tablets were cheaper from US online stores selling vitamins and supplements. I didn't have any issues having them sent over here back when I bought them.

My 2c on coffee and such during shift is, they are great until they become a habit. Then you end up just having them for the sake of having them. I found having a healthy routine (adequate amount of sleep, reasonable amount of caffeine and exercises) makes things much better eventually.

  • No-Doz
Available at Coles and probably other supermarkets, the Chemist Warehouse as well as on eBay.
No-Doz tablets have a strange effect on me as they wake me up after a few hours, not immediately, so obviously I cannot take them in the afternoon.
