Full disclosure, I have a referral link to Booking.com saved on OzBargain, but other than that I am just a happy Booking.com customer

I have used the XE conversion (its handy and depending on what you book YMMV, I used my 28deg card and who knows what it will be when I finally pay for it when I get to my hotel in December)

    • The exchange rate will vary, change your currency to € to make sure you are reaching the minimum spend, the varying exchange rate will mean the AUD figure is purely an approximation. Not sure when this deal will end.

    And to those who have used Orbitz and Cheaptickets for hotel bookings, are these websites reliable and reputable? I normally use Booking.com, but both Orbitz and Cheaptickets seem to be cheaper.

    • No listed expiry date, but last one expired recently.

      Orbitz and Cheaptickets are identical to Expedia and owned by the same company, so they are 100% reliable and instantly confirmed.

      Make sure the price is actually cheaper even with 16-18% code. Remember it's in USD and only shows tax at checkout and the discount is only taken off non tax portion

      No company can beat the booking.com cashback atm if you spend just within the threshold or even a bit over.

        • Yep Agoda/Priceline have a different pricing structure and sometimes there is definitely a huge difference going in either direction, so definitely worth checking out as well.

  • I just booked my hotel using my Coles Mastercard credit card and then read in previous post that Mastercard might not receive the cashback.

    As I don't have a VISA credit card, should I cancel my booking and use my VISA DEBIT card to get the €75 back?

    Can confirm that this works. Used it last week on a trip to Tassie. I was worried that it wouldn't work, cause my partner paid with her card while I was parking the car, but the cash went back on to the card I booked with. $111.96 was the refund amount FYI.

      Payment onsite is ok, doesn't matter what payment method is used at all.

  • Seems to be a glitch with these deals… whatever hotel I choose even if it costs over $400 it says that I will only get $40USD cash back instead of the 75 Euro or whatever.

    "After your booking has been verified and confirmed, you'll receive your US$40 reward!"

    That's even after I click on the link from this deal! Definitely something screwy going on!

      Have you tried clearing cookies or restarting browser, the link is working fine over here.

  • got the green banner, booked a hotel room for $338 for two nights in November for a work conference, it says I pay when I get to the hotel, will I still get cashback?

    • I think it should be fine, have a look at your booking confirmation. It should still have a line about the cashback. I am in a similar boat.

  • I used google to login and didnt have an account. When I log back in the dashboard no longer shows the 75 cashback under the booking section. How could I confirm whether I'd get the cashback?

      Going by the T&C, it appears not:

      Booking.com will only recognize one Eligible Reservation per Participant per campaign to count for an Incentive Bonus. Participants may only receive Incentive Bonuses from a maximum of 3 different campaigns per year, including Refer-a-Friend campaigns.

      However, if my memory serves me well, I think I came across a comment by someone, who successfully redeemed more than one.

        Unfortunately i think you are right in that each person is only entitled to use this offer once. I did a dummy booking and in the confirmation email, i did not see the 75 Euro cashback line .

        • Perhaps you can use one of the variant offers - e.g.

          USD$40 cashback for $USD80 spend
          USD$25 cashback for USD$50 spend
          I would imagine they are different campaigns from this one.

          Under the "Free Money" tab, it says that my 2nd booking will get the 75Euro cashback, even though the booking confirmation email did not mention it. I emailed Booking.com about it, but they did not really answer my question. Booking.com can be so disorganised ! I am confused.

          Lucky this booking can be cancelled and it is not until June 2018. So i will sit on it for a while before deciding whether to cancel it, and re book by using the USD$40 cashback.

          @desafinado74: Yes, monitor it … in the other thread, kctt found that the message disappeared after a week. Since your confirmation email did not mention the cashback, and suppose this message also disappears from your "Free Money" area, your chance of arguing for the cashback will be made more difficult. If so, perhaps better to use another variant.

    Just wondering can u get the cash rewards 7% cash back with this deal or is it not possible to get both?

    • Sorry, as I was about to reply, I accidentally downvoted, and to counter that I upvoted. In no way am I saying it is possible to get both. As a matter of fact, I wondered about this before booking, then decided not to risk this cashback by using cashrewards. I was afraid they would decide to honour only one cashback, and it would be the cashrewards' cashback, instead of this offer's cashback (since both involve clicking on a link). Hence, I did not use cashrewards.

  • I'm trying to update my credit card details on booking.com but it does not seem to be going through. Im concerned that i used a different card to pay for my booking and I might not get the cash back if i dont change it as the card set on my account to receive my cash rewards

  • I did my booking on 15th Aug, checked in and out & despite receiving the confirmation of the promo during booking still didn't get a cashback :(

        hey there, they actually sent another email acknowledging that I'd already checked out of the hotel and prompting me to enter my cc details onto my booking.com profile, I entered a visa card (not what I used to pay) and received $112 AUD cashback :)
        Very happy!

    Thanks for the Deal , for anyone looking for Stay at Hyatt Hotels there is an Amex Deal that get you $75 Cashback for $300 Spend ,

    Combine with this booking deal you can get back 112 + 75 = 187 Cashback with $330 Spend .

    • I think the Amex deal is only for Hyatt Hotels within Australia. I could be wrong though

    Link worked for me. I've made a booking, and on the receipt it says "Remember, you'll receive (euro) 75 after you've completed your stay". Fingers crossed.

      Update - Received AUD$111.82 in my account on Sept 8! I didn't have to do anything, I received an e-mail on Sept 5 confirming my cashback was on the way. It did note on the account that they were still having trouble processing some Mastercards, so I added my Visa to my Booking.com account. I paid for the hotel with Mastercard, so that didn't seem to matter.

  • I am still waiting for my cashback using this promo. I got the confirmation in my email and checked in and out and still nothing. I wonder who should I contact about this
