Clicking on link through CR goes to HK iherb

    • Just noticed that as well though I can sign in with my normal account. Once I set the location and currency to AUD though it seemed to link up with my normal account.

you get $5 off new purchases anyway just make a new account each time incognito + 5% off via iherb at the same time. (profanity) cashrewards

    • Why not be creative and combine them for further savings? CR and merchants aren't exclusive, you can combine discounts.

    • Iherb are pretty switched on in my experience.
If I try to use a card in a new account that I have used previously it removes the $5 off for new customers.

How? I just created a new account and see no mention of this discount.

      Edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/310500

    • That currently have 10% off anyway….plus the 5.6 from cashrewards equals about 20%. Not worth screwing around with a new email account every time.

I really want to vote positive for this deal but the price of many items there has gone up crazily in the last couple of days . Some nearly a double. I suggest to compare the prices with vitacost before paying.

    • +2

      Evitamins is quite good also.

      • Their shipping seems to be quite expensive. I have put in a couple of items to the cart but it quote $35 for shipping, whereas iherb is normally about $4 (from memory). Do they do discount on shipping/free delivery sometimes?

        • iHerb also has free shipping for orders over US$40 and less than 10lbs (~4.5 kg) in weight. If weight is an issue, I just split big orders - works better with the iHerb rewards program to do it that way anyway.

          https://au.iherb.com/info/about

Vitacost shipping starts at US$9.99 (~AU$12.70) for 3.6lbs and goes up from there. For the orders I make, the product savings at Vitacost are usually negated by the shipping costs compared to iHerb. Some products are also cheaper at iHerb.

          Never used Evitamins.

    • Good thing I saw this thread before too late. Cancelled my iHerb order. Almost everything of the same brand of what I just ordered seems to be cheaper on Vitavost.

      • Too late to edit comment, but I couldn't get Vitacost to work for my supplements. Some of the items they won't ship to Australia, and for others without that warning the address book just kept bugging out and wouldn't let me select any country but United States. Reordering on iHerb it is!

      • Strange, I just put in a large order on iHerb, none of my items had increased in price at all. But good to know about the other 2 sites for comparison.

        • +1

Mine hasn't increased in price, it's just cheaper on Vitacost according to the currency converter available on that site. But then Vitacost didn't have free shipping, and the overall checkout process was less streamlined than iHerb. I think I'll stick to iHerb.

        • @VickiePumpkin: Sorry to hear that. I normally buy skin care and cleaning products in iherb so I have no idea about supplement. btw, seems that some iherb products are Austrlian brand but with different brand name. For example
          https://au.iherb.com/pr/Bioglan-Kids-Smart-Hi-DHA-Omega-3-Fi…
it looks the same as Nature's Way Kids Smart that woolworths just did 50% off last week.

        • @Hayo:

Oh crap I was supposed to buy 2 of those fish oils for my daughter :(

On a whole I'm a big fan of iHerb but I will say fish oil is a poor buy on there. I buy those Natures Way Kids Smart's when they're 50% off. Nothing on iHerb competes. And their adult range is meh too. Many of their vitamins is where they blow Australian options out of the water though, not just value but quality ingredients.

I will check out Vitacost though, maybe they're better on fish oil.

        • @Click_It:

I buy all my fish oil from iHerb. But I don't buy capsules, and I tend to buy Cod Liver Oil.

          Why?

          • It's far cheaper than capsules (by volume)
          • It comes with vitamins A and D
          • Unlike with capsules, you can smell if the oil has gone rancid

The downside would be trying to give a spoon full of CLO to kids :) but you can buy flavoured CLO or chase it down with juice.

        • @surethang:

Hey if you don't mind can you share a link(s), I'd be personally interested.

You're right, no go for my daughter however :)

        • @Click_It:

At the moment I'm using Sonne's, No. 5, Old Fashioned Cod Liver Oil, 16 fl oz (473 ml), AU$23.84 at iHerb. It's not the cheapest CLO, but from my reading on the different types of extraction processes companies use, it's one of the best value for price-versus-quality.

          https://au.iherb.com/pr/Sonne-s-No-5-Old-Fashioned-Cod-Liver…

Comparing it to Nature's Way Kids Smart Omega-3 Fish Oil 50pk, $15.50 at Woolworths (there's probably cheaper elsewhere), Sonne's works out to be ~$0.28 per gram of Omega 3, while Kids Smart is about $1 per gram. So KS is about 350% more expensive, but far more convenient for kids as you say :) Plus Sonne's has 400 IU vitamin D and 4,000 IU vitamin A per serve and Kids Smart has none. (Usual caution: watch your vitamin A intake if pregnant.)

          https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/ProductDetails/251746/nat…

There are plenty of articles about fish oil being potentially rancid and how to check for it: www.google.com.au/search?q=fish+oil+rancid

        • @surethang:

Thanks Surething I'll check it out.

And yes, fish oil isn't something you can go cheap on. I'd rather take nothing than take a cheap fish oil, seriously.

Anybody know how long it should take for iherb transaction to show up in cash rewards? I placed a couple of orders since cash rewards started offering cashback but they haven't show up in my account yet.

    • Just came here to ask the same thing. 24 hours in and nothing so far.

      • +1

I put through an order a day or so after this post was made, and a couple of other orders since then. None have shown up yet.

Wondering if they won't show up because I used coupon codes during the checkout…

        • Wondering the same thing..
